ZOMGLULZ!
Druid tanking is pretty fun.
Lolglyph of maul, lolswipe.

Obliterating the rest of the group on dps and somehow managing to get all the ninjapulls beating on me instead of the dps that went after a random group.
Although the third time I just pulled faster than the random dps Smiley: grin

I popped Berserk for a change in heroic Culling of Stratholme the other day and beat our Shadow Priest in DPS.

5k DPS every 3 minutes, yay.

Your druid is awesome. I just need to remember not to space out while healing you and we're invincible. Or something.

The weekly raid this week is ICC, so my guild is going back. It's not looking promising, we have a lot of new members as a result of the problems with the previous raiding group. I don't know how competent half of them are, so it'll be interesting.

Good news is my wife re-spec'd her pally back into Prot; so we'll have at least one good tank. I'm hoping we can find one more so I can stay heals, and give us a fighting chance. If not I get to OT, and that would be scary in my barely-ready-for-ToC10 tanking gear.

At least I finally finished re-gemming my stamina set with Epic gems, that makes one teir of difference right? ;-)

Here's to hoping so...

Gonna get myself to about 750-800 haste on my druid soon.

That's what, half second Nourishes and 1 sec HTs (when you include GotEM)?

I think I'm around 679 haste right now, which is a 1.13 nourish cast time.

My goal is to push nourish to a 1 second cast time so I can do away with nature's grace and pick up some other talents.

Edit 1 & 2

I did forget to mention.

I've been doing some research, and the fruits of my labor can be seen on the main wow forum. The results of how easy people can be trolled is unbelievable. I know I'm probably a bad person for doing this test, but the results have been fascinating for me.

Here is what I've gathered, and this is actually not meant to offend anyone.

People who are known raiders, tend to not care about trolling and we're much more willing to admit they do things that could classify themselves as mean/ninja/*******.

The more casual people, they bite into troll threads as hard as they can. They are the ones that are morally bound to what they think is right. They have this tendency to hit the red down arrow without abandon.

Lurkers come out more and more in a troll thread, and for the most part they're usually casuals.

This little experiment was fun for me, hopefully for you as well. If I pissed you off or offended you I apologize.

It got good once you started replying a lot, /popcorn worthy at least. :-) That thread reminded me why I pass on the orb.

That GotEM change is still messing with me. I got used to sub-1.1 second HoTs, mine are still at about 1.25 now. You wouldn't think it, but that .2 seconds really #$%^s up my rhythm.

Sticky-related question about Restoration:

Quote:
Improved Tranquility is awesome in 5-mans

Anyone actually use that spell in 5-mans anymore? Last time I used it was in ToC5 when I was still wearing scrub gear and had my fingers crossed through P3 of the Black Knight.

Nowadays five Rejuvs and a Wild Growth is more than enough.

I just used it like 20 minutes ago :)

Tank didn't catch all the casters in H FoS, everyone started taking damage, and other bad things. Best part in those situations is the fact the 2 talent points means no generating threat and plenty healing for the whole group. It gives the tank 7ish seconds to get everything under control without worrying about anyone dying. At 3.2 minutes its timer is kinda the same timeframe as most of my "oh $#!%" tanking CDs, and I'll find I use it in similar situations. *shrugs*

But ya, most druids drop it though once they out-gear heriocs, are done leveling, etc. It can be hard to justify talent points on a spell with a longer CD, and it can be too tricky to use it effectively raids. But right now I mainly do 10s and heriocs myself, so it's still there for me.

Look at it this way Maz, you're probably just too good to need it. ;-)

It was entertaining to me.

Your conclusions made me think of this.

To be honest, it's probably got more to do with how well someone knows what is a troll attempt and what isn't, which has no causal link to raiding.

Well, I have healed a heroic HoL with 8k latency, remember? My reflexes, they're awesome. Smiley: tongue

But seriously, even in the new instances I haven't found myself in a situation where I felt that a group-wide "invulnerability" spell was needed. I do have a party frame addon which lights up when a player pulls aggro. When that happens it's become a built-in reflex to toss a Rejuvenation that way while keeping an eye on Swiftmend.

The "old" heroics are just plain boring these days. Rejuvenation alone is enough to keep the tank up and a single Lifebloom enough to get a stray DPS back up. Once I get 2p T10, I imagine Wild Growth spam (which "costs" negative mana for me) would be the new thing. Rejuvenation on the tank and Wild Growth whenever I feel like it. With 4p T10 things just start to get interesting. I'd love to know what the proc rate on the 4p bonus is.

I do! That was an awesome story! :D

But as to Tranquility, I like to think of it this way (yay analogies). What if the glyph of challenging roar was a major glyph, would you still take it? even if they buffed it a bit? Most well-geared tanks probably haven't used challenging roar in a herioc for while. I know I can only remember one time in the last couple of months I've used it. I probably should have waited till the extra group killed the guy who aggro'd them, but I didn't want the adds taking out my innocent healer! :-) However if you're a newly minted 80 in a random with a few 6k+ DPS, or leveling with a bunch of people still learning their classes (yourself included!), you'd be more likely to want it, hypothetically.

I'm sure we could have a similar debate for any number of survival enhancing crutches:

-Improved Tranquility
-Glyph of Rebirth
-Survival Instincts for kitty form
-Nature's Swiftness (ya some trees will drop this too)

At what point you don't need the crutch anymore is a judgment call, and is partly based on those you run with. If 5-mans are pushing-your-limit content it's still golden IMO. :-)

P.S. I wish WG had a negative net mana cost for me too :-(

Ran into an interesting thing last night.

My ISP was having outages and just as we killed the first boss of heroic VH I was dc'd.

Well, fast forward 10 hours to me logging on this morning and the second I log onto my DK, the "Congratulations H VH Completed!" and two frost emblems appeared in my currency tab.

Not complaining, but it was pretty crazy.
