Yeah, all that's missing is rate ups and it'd be like the OoT in one thread minus the drama.

Also, I've been listening to Black Gives Way To Blue by Alice In Chains for the past 4 hours or so.
It's a pretty damn good album.

I remember the rate-up thread in the OOT. Anyone remember how long the Friends & Lovers thread in the general forum was?

I miss Cap'n Omelette. Smiley: frown

Wow, ToGC10 is tougher than I thought. Bit of a DPS race, innit? I mean, we had three healers (Shaman, Priest, Paladin) and their mana seemed fine. On our fourth and last attempt we didn't get Gormok down before the worms spawned so things turned ugly.

Anyone know why I took much less damage than the MT on Gormok? Yes, he started the fight, but we shuffled aggro every 2 stacks of Impale and I got him for the last bit, so theoretically we should've taken equal amounts of hits, no?

He took 841k and I took 620k. He's a Paladin and we're about equally geared.

Edit: Also, who told me to stack so much dodge rating? Seriously, I ran out of rage tanking a boss in ToGC. Is that even possible?

I dunno about raids, but I am finding this quite frequently in Heroics, it's starting to make me a sad bear! (that and I'm running my *** of trying to pick up the runners who are getting blizzard and cycloned!)

I GET THE INTERNET BACK TODAY I GET THE INTERNET BACK TODAY I GET THE INTERNET BACK TODAY I GET THE INTERNET TODAY!!!!!!!!

I'm at work right now, but....

I've been w/o the internet for about 3-4 days now and it's done nothing short of making lose my mind.

That mid moving period of no internet or "The Dark Ages" as I like to call it blows.

I did play a lot of WC3 though.

Depends on who started with the impale (though I'm dying to figure out how you managed to taunt at 2-stack; it's a 30sec debuff with 10 sec refresh, someone is inevitably going to get 3stack unless you have 3 tanks...), 200k isn't much when you account for that. Paladins also have a bit more avoidance than us afaik.

As for ToGC, yeah it's a REALLY tight timer. You either need 2 healers geared to the nines so you can bring an extra dps, or dps geared to the nines so you can bring an extra healer. We do it with 2 heals, but we've got rogues doing 8k.

As for how you ran out of rage, just how much dodge do you have? I'm pretty well off but I still have a full rage bar all the time. Which boss was it?

The MT got the first Impale, but I got the last. I didn't check my dodge rating, but I had BoK and Earth totem on me with 40% self-buffed or so.

I ran with DBM and once the MT had 2 stacks of Impale on I'd wait until the DBM timer said about 4-6 seconds on the next. The MT would do the same, meaning he'd pick it up 4-6 seconds before I got the third Impale and his Impale would wear off just before he got hit with it again.

I don't know the timers on it, but we did it. Smiley: schooled

Also, we ran with sub-par DPS, I guess. It was a PUG so the raid leader put out a 5k minimum requirement which a lot proved to be lying about. We had a Hunter who did nothing but tell us how to tank the encounters and yell at the DPS for not attacking snobolds while he was doing 3k DPS.

And for the first two wipes we ran with a Shaman who did 2.4k HPS (/facepalm). The Paladin healer was 1m healing ahead of that guy.

Makes sense, I guess we just go to 3 for simplicity -- the 2 runs the risk of a taunt missing, but then you're just at 3 anyway so it's not like WHOACRAPHEALZNOW like at 4+.

I may have to run that by my guild, see what they say.

Maz, I might sound like a **** here. But the hunter was right. 3k DPS on snobolds its infinitely better than 5k dps on the boss when you are ranged.

Snobolds HAVE to go down. If they don't they become too much to handle and you're ranged and healers will end up getting stunned, firebombs will come out that much faster, and you're raid is about that much more likely to wipe.

Also, we've always 2 tanked it. Pally/Druid or Pally/Warrior.

Three healers and a mix of dps. We've found for that fight its optimal to have a 2 melee 3 ranged set up.

Arex....the wife bought me xbox 360 and Modern Warfare 2 after much ******** and complaining. It's like crack....

I'll still be on for raid nights and such, but it's taking up a lot of my time right now.

Plus a lot of my real live friends from the army play MW2 and since they are spread out all over the country, I never get to talk to them.

Anyway. Gratz on getting the net back :P

How much dps did your dps do?
For reference, I'm at 6k dps there with my MM spec (which sucks for 10 mans :P)

You have metric craptons of armor.
Impale is physical damage.

3k dps is pathetic nonetheless.
I do that on my newly dinged shaman alt.

Arex, the MT (who was also the raid leader) and I was in the boat with the Hunter on the snobolds issue, for sure. 3k DPS on the snobolds > 5k on the boss, yes, but 3k DPS when you've told the RL you did 5k+ isn't fun either. When you're already doing **** DPS compared to what you were bragging about, you shouldn't be pulling the attention towards yourself. And there was no need to either because two people were already shouting at the ranged DPS to take care of the snobolds. The MT had one on him during P2 which probably should've given us a warning of what was to come.

So yeah, the Hunter was right, but I really, really hate it when people tell me how to do my job. Especially Hunters who pull aggro. Not supposed to happen. It's called Misdirection and you should keybind half your keyboard to it for those /facedesk moments you seem to be having. At least that's what I was considering saying to the guy after he pulled aggro off of Acidmaw before I could pick him up.

Anyway, the group was doomed to fail from the beginning. One of our three healers had a snobold on him for the majority of P1 which caused him to die in the fire. Stun + fire = fail.

Aeth, the DPS put out 3-5k on Gormok. The fourth time the DPS dropped to 4k even for the melee DPS which consisted of a Druid and a Rogue. Most of them were pretty well-geared. The Hunter was the least geared of them all with the Rogue and Druid coming out in the top in full T9 crap.

I don't think I've got more armor than other tanks. Armor and health used to be the trademark of the Druid tank, but nowadays you have shields with crazy armor and Death Knights with armor modifiers as well. I'm sitting at 27k armor or so in Bear form. With both trinkets running I've got 41k or something like that.

3-5k on gormok is just way too low for ToGC10, they should be at 6-7k during that phase.

You should transfer to Neptulon (Alliance side, of course).

Then you could show the scrubs how to do it.

Sadly for you I wasn't in Pwnanza. (they transferred from Kazzak to neptulon a few weeks ago)
Else I'd have been on Neptulon now.

And you can find scrubs anywhere, multiple top 500 raiding guilds not so much. ^^

So I took a a job working on a pipeline in the middle of the woods about 100km from Alaska border(Yes I'm Canadian). I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there is interwebs in the camp. Then I tried to log on to WoW. 2200ms...... No raiding for me for the next three months.

I've found that three heals hurts the dps to much in ToGC. Of course most in my guild can't break 4k so that could be it.

The usual groups for ToGC have 2.5 healers, as you really don't want 3 healers at Anub but it's good before that assuming your dps is solid.

Having an ele/resto shaman or a healing/shadow priest is optimal.

My chat window got spammed to the max.
