Spent some time with a spreadsheet, and I can find any use for LB with my current gearing. So it's gone from my rotation. Unless i plan on rolling it on a tank for 20+ seconds I just can't find anyway to justify using it.

N64 and I still play mario kart

I swear that is all I did for the first semester of college. We sat in the dorm room, took shots of Jager, and played mario kart 64 and cards till like 5am.

LB is good for proactive damages.

Predict what will be taking damage and you'll be a god at using LB.

It's much like pvp, if you react you can be good. If you're proactive and predict what they're going to do, you can be a god.

*nods at arex*

The problem is just that it's weak, which can be okay, but I'm not seeing a lot of other benefits from it atm.

Normally I can justify it by the mana savings it offers, but recently I've been putting my mana problems further behind me. Plus with the idol of awakening there's almost no different in cost between LB (after refund) and RJ. RJ has 3x the healing potential per cast, so it makes little sense to cast LB. The HPSC when I let it bloom is just so far behind Nourish that it makes a lot more sense to use an extra nourish unless I'm having serious mana problems.

I'll still use it in places where I can predict the incoming damage, and times when I'm rolling it on the tank. But single stacks and slow stacks will be out for the most part I think. I'm just having trouble justifying using the GCD on it in most situations. *shrugs*

ooo and my off-off-spec got love last night. Those things look plain evil with the tentacles or whatever they are.

I'm in the same position, so I do pretty much the same thing as you: pro-actively so it blooms just when I need it or when I have an OoC proc for the free mana return.

Sometimes when I'm MT healing I use it as well, just to keep lots of health ticking on the tank but I'm only ever on the MT when something has gone wrong, and by that point efficiency is less of a problem as throughput.

Yeah, I dont suggest just ruling it out completely.

There are two pretty distinct play styles out there when it comes to healing.

Rejuv/WG, this is probably the better way to play and safest way to play and it works when you have the right gear for it, mainly 4pc t8 or t9.

Then there is what us old school BC healers are used too.

LB/WG. I could actively compete with my guilds old main resto druid (this was pre nerdrage/emoquit wow, plus this ****** had our legendary mace) by using LB and WG. A lot of this stems from the fact that back in the day resto druids used LB and only LB. Rejuv only came up if you were tank healing for some ungodly reason. There were resto druids with 400+ mp5 in combat and LB only cost you 171 mana. So it was pretty easy, but I'll say it now old habits are hard to break so you'll still see druids relying heavily on LB healing.

Regardless of your play style you can't rule out any spell from your healing tree except for maybe healing touch, except for when its NS/HT.

I had a pretty long discussion about this with the main resto druid for my guild now about healing and how she has been beat repeatedly by me when I have to heal and our main pally healer when he's on his resto druid alt.

Healing is an interesting beast and to truly master it takes a lot of time and effort learning how to correctly justify your heals on the people you raid with. The more you're with a group the more you'll understand.

Hell, back in BC when I was running Kara/Za I two healed with a holy circle jerk priest. We knew each other so well that it was magic how we ended up healing together. She knew how to let my hots run their course and I knew well enough that I only needed one LB on something with CoH incoming. Good times, wish she still played :(

Sometimes I miss healing :(

Whenever my guild needs me to tank I always miss heals too. Naw I still got my priorities,

WG 3+ targets > RJ > RG > WG 2 targets > Nourish

as my ideal rotation for when I'm trying to maximize my output.

RJ + RG + LB-roll + Nourish

For tank healing.

Swiftmend > Nourish/RG

for spike damage on the raid.

The rest is all mix and match. Trying to hit the right spell at the right time, trying to guess what is coming up, etc. Deciding who needs to have a HoT on them for emergencies. I love how the druid gives you a chance to get 'ahead' of the healing when there are lulls in the fight.

It's just kind of a shame how they did in LB this expansion, though I guess it really made some of the other spells more loved. Can't complain since there isn't a spell that doesn't have at least situational usefulness. But I've been slowly minimizing LB in my rotation over the last few months. For better or for worse I haven't missed it the less I use it. But getting an RJ for 380 mana is just too much to pass up for LB these days.

On an off note, we need more discussions about trees in these parts! :D

I use LB pretty much whenever I get a Clearcasting and I'm not trying to save someone's life. Being able to cast a free LB and get 400ish mana back is just godly.

Did us some heroic ToC.

Got me a new DPS chest.

We need work before Anub will die but still getting there was cool.

edit: I can break 5k on the gear score add on if I cheat as well.

Resto spec still lacks love. Other than Emblems I haven't got an upgrade for it in over a month. Having 2 boomkins in the group now doesn't help much.

I lost the roll on the spark of hope 2 nights ago as well. I've never been so temped as a ML to ninja something; but I gave it away. Probably a good thing too, since my wife won it...

3 upgrades this week for my feral sets. My kitty/farming set is going to better than main-healing set here real fast. Experiments with minimizing LB usage have worked out well so far. It was at 2% of my heals last night, compared to about 10%-15% normally. My HPS is up, but I'm still waiting for a nice chance to stress test things.

Call of the Crusade (10 player)!

Hells yeah, baby! I got me some new gear. No more farming Paletress for her damn polearm!

Unfortunately we had to PUG some of it, but the puggies were nice and caused zero issues. And I got to raid with RedPhoenixxx who's in the guild now. He's a regular from the OOT and such if you don't know him.

I got:

Acidmaw Boots
Fervor of the Frostborn
Fordragon Blades

I'm a happy camper now. I also, finally, got the achievement. I've always been a replacement and only had the three last encounters. The champions fight is still my favorite. We went up against a Resto Shaman and Resto Druid comp, but it went amazingly smooth.

Got enlightenment and fetish of volatile power tonight out of 10 togc.

We stopped after a few wipes of anub for 25 man toc.

I lost 7 spell power, spent 1000 gold on gems/enchants, but gained 3-4% crit and 80 haste.

I'm a happy druid.

Did a spur-of-the-moment Ony25 run as OT and Reinforced Shadowstrike dropped. I was the only Feral, but there were three Hunters as well. I figured I'd ask whoever won it to let me borrow it since the Reinforced Thunderstrike is useless to Hunters.

And then the raid leader gives it to a DPS Warrior.

I've never seen a raid chat explode with drama before, but this came close. No one, even the non-Hunters, understood why the hell he did that. I saw an opportunity and whispered the Warrior if he'd please let me use the Shadowstrike to summon the Thunderstrike. I figured he'd just ignore me since I wouldn't lend my 245 epic weapon to someone from a 25-man PUG, but he actually trusted me and I got my Thunderstrike! Smiley: yippee

Within two days I've gone from an ilevel 200 weapon to an ilevel 245 upgrade. I'm feeling spoiled and I worry that Lady Luck might get her revenge soon.

In other news, the powers above saw fit to grant me the title of class leader.

Good thing it's a casual slacker guild, otherwise I might've had to say no.

I wonder how many posters in this thread have a postcount lower than that of the thread.
And I wonder where this thread ranks on the list of longest threads ever on alla.
I don't think I've seen any longer ones, at least I can't remember any.
