Rogue Talents .. Follow

#1 Jun 02 2007 at 12:05 PM Rating: Default
Well im a level 58 rogue, and i wanted a good build that i could use in PvP and PvE situations .. heres the talent tree that i came up with..

http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/rogue/talents.html?0000000000000000000003200550120450000000000005002501310301010000000

ive focused on the Combat and Subtlety tree's, but whatdo you guys think of that ?
I like being able to pop preperation when my vanish/sprint is on CD, this helps me get the upper hand in most situations and for some reason i like using Hemo, ive chose Hemo over SS for the past 15 or so levels.. thats the 3rd time i've respecced my rogue, and was hoping its a pretty decent build.. let me know what you guys think.

Hemo Daggers for the loss?
#3 Jun 02 2007 at 1:06 PM Rating: Default
Right .. if your gunna find fault with my talent build, atleast explain why, or offer a different talent build. Dont just say "hemo daggers for the loss" that isn't very helpful at all :/

And i use a dagger in MH and a sword in OH ..

And you can read the FAQ or the other threads before posting yours so we don't have to post we posted yesterday/last week again.

He summed it up pretty nicely. Hemo Daggers is full of lose (I don't give a **** what your offhand is, the Main hand is what matters). Read one of the other thousand threads on the subject, or the FAQ. We're tired of explaining it over and over again.

well i only asked for advice on my talent build, no need to be a little ******** about things is there now o.o

for pvp that is terrible, sorry but it is. U have preperation and nothing to really finish the cooldown on. Here are 2 better PvP builds that also work great in PvP incase u just wanna shoot off to outland

Personally i am build one and love shadowstep with ambush.

Is it too late for a New Year's resolution? I'd like to pledge not to argue with idiots any more.

Take your rate-downs and go read a sticky.

All right at 66(I am a good player lol, just never NEVER bothered to learn from what appears to be an awful move in general)

I am mutilate spec and can land some very nice shots. Now the question is what makes hemo so good? It would appear that SS would do more damage and in one shot rather then 30. Am I missing something? Lol

Nooblestick, why don't you take your head out of your assand stop being a utter tard. I actually read the information on rogues which you did, yes it was kinda useful but not exactly what i was looking for. I asked for a little help with a good solid build, atleast theres some people who are decent enough to help, thanks for the useful replies everyone else :)

What makes hemo so good is that is is excellent both for stunlocking and for building up combo points quickly. Where it lacks is in sustained damage in the longer fights which are typical in raid situations.

Hemo is pretty much a PVP sword build. You'll want a good slow sword with nice high end damage to take full advatage of hemo's non-normalized attack.

Now to address one other issue that keeps seeming to pop up. Although the answers to these questions may seem a bit "basic" to many of you, keep in mind there are many players who are new to this game. Forums like this should have a friendly atmosphere. Calling people who are new to the game, (or who don't read the sticky) idiots doesn't qualify as friendly in my book. It just brings the rest of us down. It's easier to ask on the forum than to read 15 pages of stickies, and you'd think after posting on here for over a year you'd accept the fact that questions like this are par for the course....so why not give these guys a break by trying to be nice instead of being so arrogant?

Please consider simply referring new folks to the stickies and quit calling names....this isn't high school.

We should totally make a thread telling people to read the stickies. Maybe we could even sticky it...

Thanks for your useful post Eliff, i currently have Shadowblade in MH and a slowish sword in OH (i think its 2.80 speed wise, but does 44.7 dps) does Hemo work ok with that ? or should i look about getting better weapons ??

If you switched your weapons around that may work, but what were trying to say is that you really only should use Hemo if your twinked out in a lower bracket, or for PvP purposes only. Combat swords does the same as Hemo, only better. It has more survivability, which makes for a more viable option over Combat Swords for PvP.

For Sinister Strike, and every other instant attack we as rogues have, a normalized weapon attack speed is factored into it, with the exception of Ghostly Strike and Hemo . That meaning that they have a set normalized weapon speed for the attack(1.8 for daggers, 2.4 for swords). Hemo and Ghostly Strike do not have a norm. weapon attack, so the weapon speeds for whatever particular weapon you are using at the time would be factored into your damage output equation. Shadowblade has a 1.4 weapon speed, making it probably the worst weapon in that bracket for hemo(no offense). Grab you a nice, slow, high top-end damage sword MH and move Shadowblade OH and go to town.

A 2.8 speed sword is perfect, as long as the top end damage is good for your level. But it'll have to be in your main hand obviously. Don't hemo with a dagger in your main hand....it's a very inefficient use of energy, and the dps is weak as hell.

Also, make sure you are going hemo for the right reasons. While it's decent for grinding and general PVE, combat is actually better. Most rogues who go the hemo route are mostly interested in stunlocking and/or building CP's quickly. As far as I know, the only other build better at building CP's quickly is mutilate. I spec'd hemo because although combat was better for grinding, I still wanted to do some PVP (something combat doesn't do well at all, imho). Hemo seemed to be a build that was decent at both.

Finally, once you get serious about instancing and raiding you'll likely want to get off the hemo train and spec combat (swords or daggers) or mutilate/combat (daggers).

Eliff, you are too nice.

Oh, I could careless if you are new to the game, there is nothing wrong with asking questions, there is something wrong with asking questions without putting any ounce of effort or thought into a question and then being offended like we did you some great injustice, seriously just go do some prior research before asking the same question like the last 99 idiots have.

Edit:
Oh, you obviously just wanted to not think or too damn lazy/stupid to do your own work, because it took you how long to arrive at an answer after both me and Nooblestick pointed you in the right direction?

Again, eliff, you are too nice, if kids can't read then they deserve to be uninformed.

They(nooble + element) definitely have a point. There are countless other posts dealing with this info. Many not longer than 1-2 weeks ago and there's always the sticky, already mentioned(which is one of the most comprehensive guides you'll find that has been put togetherly logically, not just a pile of info). There are also other tools at your disposal, wowwiki even has all the dam formulas so you can see how the non-normalized dam formula is calculated vs. normalized attacks. All they are asking is that you put a little effort into learning about the talents available before just blatantly asking for help in general.

It's always easier to assist if you are specific in what you are asking as many people on the forums have a ton of experience playing specific specs and can really offer you some good advice. And if you dig alittle you'll probably already find that they have offered this advice in many prev threads.

But the real reason you got sh*t on is because your spec is too close to what I was specced and pissed nooble off earlier this week(see the thread on Combat Hemo), so don't feel too bad, he let you off easy.

you know what, i couldn't give a rats **** what you guys say, so what if i didn't use the search feature, i did look through a couple of posts and saw nothing really of interest. But like most forums these days, you can't post a question without being flamed or accused of something or the other :D

But anyways, i got myself two new swords, and i've definatly realised the difference between the ammount of dmg ive been outputting, so thanks to everyone who's been so useful.

There's a @#$%ing entire GUIDE to everything a noob could want to know about the rogue class at the very top of the damn rogue forums, props to nooblestick.

It's one thing if you don't LOOK at the other topics because you think your question will be unique and not asked 1000 times before, but it's another to blatantly LIE about doing so.

GTFO.

Sorry Mikaka, some people just have a need to be asswipes. Instead of not replying at all or just replying with a link to the stickied thread, they just can't help showing their *******-iness.

Good luck,
