Some 2handed fury suggestionsFollow

#1 Jun 01 2007 at 11:41 PM Rating: Decent
I've been going over the possibility of doing a 2handed fury build, and wanted to get some feedback over whether something like this would be viable or just a waste of effective play time (I say effective because as fun as it might be, I love being efficient).

Now, the backbone talents I was thinking of planning this around would be Bloodthirst, Imp. Slam, and a weapon specialization of choice. Yes, a weapon spec, which does involve the arms tree, meaning that for end game, this would leave much to be desired for high end tanking. Meh. Not a concern for me because I doubt I'll actually get into that stuff, and even if I do, it's nothing but an equipment swap and a talent change away.

Here's what I've got so far:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=pVMcdGboxZVVzV0gRVzZc

Most of my experience is as an arms warrior, and I'm only at lvl 55 right now, but I've been having a blast with warrior, and am fairly good at the class. Basically, I'm trying to squeeze as much dps as possible out of my warrior without having to go dual wield (I've got a serious love of two handed smashing, personal preference really).

So give me some feedback, let me know what works and doesn't work, and feel free to change and repost a talent build. I'd really like to give it a whack, the earlier the better

You like to break face with a big 2h? I would def go with a spec like this. It gives you all the perks of the arms tree and then some of the fury.

Arms: It gives you that burst DPS that you want with your 2h. Also, with the talent points I have chosen you will benefit from not being disarmed, when you crit (which procs Deep Wounds, which in turn procs Blood Frenzy) you get an additional 4% damage on that target. With your +crit,AP and Hit, you should have no problem keeping that up. IF that doesn't work, stay in Battle Stance long enough to rend your target to proc the damage increase buff.

Every time you get stunned or immobilized you gain rage and start to heal (Second Wind) for a certain % of your max HP. Very useful in PvP against a lot of classes, i.e. rogues, druids, mages, etc. Then you get the lovely MS. You could go 5 points into it, but it doesnt make that much of a difference. What else...Oh, TC is good for slowing your melee opponents down as well. Add in the extra 5% damage from the poleaxe talent and you have a substantial amount of Damage to unleash on your enemy.

Fury: You get Cruelty (5% chance to crit). Imp. Demo Shout, way better than Unbridled Wrath. ( I had it and it sucked! Second Wind ftw!) plus you increase the AP reduction of all melee i.e. rogues and warriors and so on.

Commanding Presence gives you your choice of Health or Attack Power. Your choice, both equally good, but I'd go for Battle Shout in the BG's or any PvP.

Piercing Howl, you gotta love that. I miss it on my prot warrior, but hey when I was pvp'ing it came in handy. Slow your opponent down by 50%, are you kidding me!? Great on Rogues! Then you have Enrage and Deathwish, which unfortunately don't stack anymore but none-the-less are still great. In BG's your bound to get crit alot so that extra 25% on top of what you already have is pretty sweet. Deathwish is nice, try it out and you'll see why we love it so much. Anyway, thats my opinion on the spec itself and hope it shed some light on your issue. You may not agree with me on some things, but thats life. You'll find a spec that you do like.

Oh, PROT: TM, great for stance dancing. Learn how to utilize that skill!! \m/

On the same topic, would it be efficient to make a mainly Arms specced warrior with some Fury thrown in and use DW? (I.E. 35/26/0 or 51/10/0)

While "Smashing face" with a 2h weapon is nice, I like seeing the damage rack up quickly with dual wield. Honestly, I don't know which I like best, 2h or DW.
