Well It's kinda up to you, for example you don't even have to use the different specializations.. Weapon mastery gives you all weapon skills +4 and will make you immune from disarm, and that will give you extra boost to both your polearms and your swords. Or you could go for the specializations and change it to polearms if you want to do better damage now. But in my opinion you don't have to think so much about the talents when you are at your level. If this talents makes your questing worthless, then change, if it don't keep the talents and start focusing on them after level 60.
My opinion.

What do you want to do once you reach 70? Do you want to use 2h swords or Axes? (rarely see a polearm on a warrior at 70) Are you a Blacksmither? Are you going to make your own weapons? Thats what I would ask myself to help me make my decision. I personally used the poleaxe skill when I was lvling up due to the Ice Barbed Spear I got at lvl 51 from AV. It adds to the damage I deal vice the extra attack. But since the new patch, sword spec will now grant extra white and/or yellow hits too, which is a plus in that skill. Again, its all up to you and what you want to do in the end!

get Sul'thraze the lasher, and get sword spec (extra attacks=more procs). thats MY plan anyway

I like the look of 2hand swords but found
Two-HandPolearm
118 - 178 DamageSpeed 3.30
(44.8 damage per second)
+13 Strength
+13 Agility
+15 Stamina
+9 Spirit
Requires Level 47

which I think is better then all swords I see at this level. I probably will switch back to 2h swords once I get to 60 or higher. I was think of just keeping my spec for now and using polearm.

My advice: if you get a great polearm, respec. If you get a great 2hand sword, respec back. It's not that hard to get the gold to respec. Although at your level, you might not be getting that much gold, so do what you want. I'm specced for polearm and I deal a decent amount of dps, but I'm constantly on the look for something better. And if it's a sword that I find, and it's good enough to get me to respec, I'll respec.

You should pick your specialization on whether you like the double attack or higher chance to crit and stick with it(I'm a crit fan. Especially early levels where gear won't get you as much. Arms is about critting for tons of damage. If you aren't critting often you aren't doing good damage). Avoid getting tempted into a respec each time you find a shiney new weapon unless you already have a rich level 70 to fund it.

While IBS is easy to obtain, and a good weapon in its own right, that doesn’t mean you have to use it. If you are sword specced, you can keep using a sword.

IBS is 51, and while there are more polearms at 60+, at 60, there is the Blade of Misfortune, which is a really good 2h sword.

Currently I’m at 4 points in sword spec, giving me 4%...one more level and I’ll try at 5%...but so far, I’m not impressed by the low number of times it seems to proc. I was curious about the polearm/axe 5% crit also, but it seems many other seasoned warriors are preferring sword spec, so I’ll try it out a little longer.

I guess the other reason for sword spec might be that, with gear and such, you already can reach about 25-30% crit rate, so you aren’t in great need of another 5% from the polearm/axe spec.

Raaze brings up a good point that at lower levels, this 5% crit may be more important than at later levels.
