Can I get an opinion plz??Follow

#1 May 24 2007 at 8:28 AM Rating: Decent
I am trying to get an overall opinion of my spec and what I looking at end-game. Currently I am at 0/10/3, but I want to end up at 44/14/3. Here it is in detail http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=mVbhzgxRVuAoqxboZ0h

I like both PvP and PvE, but am trying to twink out this character to become more PvP in the end. Basically I am looking to use my pet as much as possible but still be able to deal out ranged/melee as well, especially in BG's where I cant always have the range I need to shoot safely. I want to be able to provide something to a group/raid as well as solo/level as well.

Also, could you take a look at my toon and let me know if im going the right way in regards to equipment? This is my first hunter and I have only been on WoW for a few months now, so im not too sure what I should be focusing on..im thinking agi and sta? http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Undermine&n=Kappa

I am looking for any opinions and advice that anyone has to offer, it would be much appreciated. Thanks

That 70 build looks pretty similar to where I am heading with my 63. I'm finding it quite effective for both PvP, and PvE

My recommendation would be to start in the BM tree early. When you get to where you get your AotV then respec if you have any in imp AotH. cause you prolly will use AotV more. Thats what I have been reading. I like the procs of AotH though it seems like it isnt gonna help me once i use AotV to concerve mana. and your a long way away to be worried about a lvl 70 build. just dont spend to much early on for respecs and you wont have to worry bout it when you get up higher. I also would like to add... that hawk eye isnt a requirement. though nice to have. i am sure the 3 points would help somewhere else better. I know I use to have it but its not that big of a difference from that to what I have now.

Maybe take out go for the throat, replacing it with improved aspect of the monkey (assuming you used it). That, coupled with Catlike Reflexes, may make you more durable if you start getting overwhelmed.

This, of course, depends on how much you use aspect of the monkey.

what pet(s) do you use?
if all have charge/dash.dive, dump bestial swiftness.

and 1 point in concussive shot is the most wasted talent point ever.

also, Aimed shot is pretty rubbish unless you take Mortal shots, wich you didnt.

I havent used AotM in forever. Go for the throat is much more useful. I recommend keeping Go for the Throat. So you can spec your pet with more damage moves. I am almost able to put my instant cast attack claw on my pet instead of bite cause of how fast she regens Focus.

uses for AotM:
1: you dont have any other aspect yet so you use it.
2: taming a pet.
3: running mounted and to lazy to care about mobs trying to kill you.

and thats about all i could find...

Yeah I forgot to mention that in your case I would respec to 100% BM now. It's going to make you able to level PvE alot faster.

4. PVP VS Rogues
5. Combine with Deterrence to Off-tank a mob when you pull to much aggro
6. To get that funky monkey sound to play anytime you want

So if I am going for Aimed Shot I should put points (some) into Mortal Shot? I am currently using a wolf as my pet (have a cat in the stable). Should I respec now and put all my points into BM? Also, how much does Hawk Eye help? Is 6 yards all that much? I was trying to stay out of the reach of mage/lock etc spells so I can shoot safely, but if it doesnt help that much then its a waste of points. Heres another build I came up with http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=cVbh0gxRVuAoVxbRc as an alt, but that would require me to respec at some point.

Also, I dont use AotM that much, hardly ever actually, i usually stay in AotH unless im going some where then i change to AotC.

Then keep it in Go For the Throat.

Well after reading some posts I decided on respeccing. I have 3 points in hawk eye, but after reading this and other posts im starting to wonder if i wasted those 3 points. I plan on going BM build mostly, but wanted my aimed shot+mortal shots. My question is, after respeccing, should I put all my talent points to BM first, or should I get my MM points out the way? The first five will go to lethal shots (MM), but after that which way should I go? Please help!

Hawk eye is a really nice talent... for raiding.
It helps you pulling and you can stand out of trouble in some fights.
It was a must have before BC, now I'm not that sure, but I still have it and like it.

As to your question what to spec first.
You want to be a Beast Master, so go for it. Do not toy around with the other trees, but spec into your tree to get the cool talents (which are deep in that tree) earlier.
The one talent you might take beforehand is Lethal Shots in Marksman. Those 5% crit are really nice and you'll get not that much gear with crit chance in early equipment, so this talent might help your damage while leveling.

So this is a very good option for your current build: 8/5/0

The next 33 points should go into Beast Master so that you can get The Beast Within.
Your build would look something like this then: 41/5/0.

After that you can fill your build with the remaining talents you want to spec.
If you want more damage for yourself and still buff your pet a little further This (41/20/0) might be fine for you.
A full BM build might be fun as well: 47/14/0.

That's the build I was thinking, you can swing those two points taken off Fer Insp back and forth between that and Mortal shots depending on how much you group.

Edit: Also if you use a pet with dash/dive/charge you can dump the point from Bestial Swiftness into Imp Revived pet.

Thanks for the help. I respecced last night and am now currently 8/5/0. I plan on finishing up with BM then going over to MM for a 41/20/0 finish (except with Imp Hunter's Mark instead of Efficiency, since it applies to your pet and group as well as yourself now...from what i heard anyway)

I am not quite sure why you avoid Imp Revive pet. That becomes invaluable when your pet dies when your in a group or not. if your fighting a perticular tough mob. your pet dies. and your trying to stay alive. mobs a lil over half way dead but melee... you aint gonna win like that. ice trap that bad boy and rez ur pet. slap a heal on it and wait till ice breaks. send your pet back in and eat it up. this infact saved my party from a complete wipe yesterday in the arena BRD. I rezed my pet and saved the healer. 2 times. my pet was pissed after that. but i rewarded her loyalty.
