The Ins and Del keys no longer by default tilt up and down in flight and swimming, and these functions don't seem to be available for assignment to any other key binding. These aren't entirely Druid-specific, but we do especially like getting about in flight or aquatic form. I can't fathom why this basic navigational functionality would have been removed.

I never knew about tilting up and down with keys... would have been nice, I always use the mouse to navigate underwater (and I guess I will do the same for flying whenever I get my flight form).

x = move down while holding it, a nice new addition corresponding to
space = move up while holding it

But these are not the same as the functionality that had been provided by Ins and Del, which tilted up or down and kept that direction.

I miss this because I often want to look in some other direction than the one my character is flying while navigating, for instance to scan below me or behind me for enemies.

Since this question sort of fits with 'not so brilliant' and I do not want to post another thread... Remember in the addon screen before the game loaded we used to be able to allocate memory to the addons? This option does not seem to exist anymore and I am getting the feeling this is why a few of my addons do not load anymore. I clicked to load out of date addons ( not looking forward to re-downloaded everything one by one ) but some still dont seem to work... Yet they worked for others with the same addons. I think when the game went back to the defaults after the patch it went back to the default memory allocation to addons. Who knows how to get all of my addons to work again? Thank you in advance.h

I believe the game simply uses the two keys you have bound for jump and sit.

Jump = Tilt up
Sit = Tilt down

My bet is you can bound them to whatever you like and, as long as you have a jump and a sit key, you'll be able to tilt while in forms or mounted.

Like any other key bindings, the keys for jumping and sitting can be changed, and the keys used to take those actions while on foot should always cause you to climb or dive while flying or swimming.

But as for the suggestion that this is the tilting functionality I'm now missing: again, no. The keys in question cause a character to climb or dive, while flying or swimming, at a fixed inclination (which may in fact be less steep than your original trajectory) as long as you hold them, reverting to the same trajectory as soon as you let go.

This is separate from the now-missing behavior: tap the Ins key once and let go -> tilt up slightly; tap it again -> tilt up more; fly at any inclination desired without having to use the mouse to look in that direction.

Ooh, I think I get what you mean. The "mouse up" and "mouse down" keybinds...

I haven't really checked that out cause I always use my mouse but I'll try to pay attention tonight and see if I can find anything.

The only thing I can think of now is: Make sure none of your addons interfere with those functionalities.

Same thing happened to me and my friend. I wouldnt recommend keeping the out of date ones though. Not only does a very annoying error screen pop up when you log in, WoW has the potential to crash. It happened to my friend when he was running ST. It just all the sudden crashed. Now I'm exactly a 100% sure that the addons were the problem, but it did happen right after the patch.

I went to en-curse gaming yesterday and tried to download some of the 2.1 compatible addons, but many of them were still down or only available for Euro servers. All I could get was x-pearl, SCT, and Atlas. I still dont know if those even work, as I went right to bed after.

The game crashed on me already 5 times (in about as many hours) - 3 times it crashed with the error report for Blizz and twice it required a reboot.

I'm not sure it's linked to OOD add-ons, I use only auctioneer and the most basic coords addon. If you check the "lag" bar it now also displays fps and how much memory your add-ons use. For me it's way below whatever was my limit before. But maybe it will give you an indication.

Am I the only one who uses the movement keys and the mouse when flying/swimming?

Just tilt the character with your mouse and move forward..?

Thank you for the lag bar tip. Does it also give an option to increase memory to addons in this bar? I will mess around with it some when I get home from work tonight. I appreciate the point in the right direction.

You're welcome. Another thing I noticed (cos I had 5-6 crashes yesterday and this morning) is that Alt-Tabbing out of the game (e.g. to get info from the web) makes the game crash quite often (either when you do it or shortly after). So maybe it's not related to your addons (I've had crashes with only the most basic coord addon loaded).

I found out the other day that a guildy of mine uses A & D to turn and has Q & E to strafe. I can't understand this, the mouse is for turning!

I use A & D to strafe & the mouse to turn. Q & E are then fantastic easy to reach keys to bind to important abilitied. (I have Q for Faeryfire & E for Taunt/Cower depending on form)
