Q: Cobra Reflexes..?Follow

I have a couple questions regarding the new Cobra Reflexes talent, and whether or not I should get it for all my pets.

1) Does it lower spell damage, such as for claw, bite, and lightning breath?

2) Does it lower damage from kill command?

3) Is there a way to calculate the damage reduction for the above spells, or just the damage reduction in general?

4) Would it be worth it to get for my wind serpent, which I primarily only use for raids?

Thanks for any help.

1) Do not know, but I'd assume no. The purpose of the lowered damage was to offset the increased attack speed, so it sounds like it would only work on the damage type it was supposed to offset (i.e. orange damage).
2) I would assume so, since it lowers your orange damage and I think that's what KC is based on.
3) It's a 12.5% reduction in orange damage. With 30% faster attack speed, that translates into a 13.75% DPS increase.
4) I would. Your pet is just added DPS. Either A) you'll keep it back and only use LB, in which case you wont get hurt more by having CR or B) you'll be up close getting the extra DPS from it. I have it on mine.

It reduces the base damage dealt to compensate for the increased attack speed. This means that attacks that deal a preset amount of damage (Bite, Claw, etc) will remain unaffected, while attacks that involve the pet's base damage (like Kill Command, which is base damage + 127) are reduced.

When it was only on King B, many claimed that the tooltip dps increased. I'm not sure whether that has stayed the same but if so, the damage reduction is less than the speed increase.

Awesome. Thanks for the quick responses :D rate ups!

I should have added that I'm BM spec, so I don't want to be gimping my pet's damage in any way.

But if it's just orange damage as you guys say, then it shouldn't matter that much because orange dps is going up with this skill (and the tooltop dps still increases like you were saying Sayis).
Only bad thing is weaker kill commands, but without doing any math, my guess is that the increase in orange damage will still outweigh the decrease in Kill Command damage, even if you use it every 5 seconds (no GCD ftw!)

Although the kill command will be less damage plus X, does it add that to an attack or weave it between two attacks?
If it's in place of an attack, you won't lose any dps at all, if it's not you'll lose a very small amount.

Kill Command is an instant attack. You lose 12.5% of the base damage, before it adds the +127.
