Okay my lock is now up to level 47, and ive been doing the 'hunter-esque' tanking style... i try to distance myself from it, but its oddly hard to do anything else. it has little downtime, i can do 2-3 mobs at once, i can keep my threat FAIRLY low, and its great dps overall.... now my question is this.

At my level with my build (full affliction, based off the build i got from my other post ZOMG something or other like that) is there any better / faster way to kill mobs at present im doing it like this:

life syphon
COA
Corruption
(2x imp)life tap (one or 2)
drain life (1-3)
maybe immolate

rinse and repeat.

edit: any quests / items not to miss coming up soon (warlock only quests, or instance +stm / +int gear?)

If you're full afflic, you'll get UA at L50, and it will help down the harder mobs much easier. I usually cast it after corruption and before life tap. Also at 50, your VW gets a better taunt and holds aggro much better than now.

Upcoming quests:

1. (L50) The warlock Quest in Felwood that ends with getting the good robe, weapon, or a mana-free summoning trinket for your VW.

2. (L50) from the same place, another quest which ends with getting a trinket which increases fire spell damage.

3. (L58) The epic mount quest. You can't complete it until L60, but you can start gathering the stuff.

What about the infernal quest?

Death Coil? Do we get soul fire at that level? And definitely Shadow Bolt.
I personally do, with my 38 demon warlock:

CoA (Or CoT for casters)
Corruption
Immolate
Drain Life
Shadow Bolt (if required)
If soul shards needed, drain life. If not, wand

Rinse and repeat (what's up with that, anyway?)

definitely NOT deathcoil. When drain hunting, you want the mob to stay close to your minion, not have it chased all over the place (with the possibility of having your minion aggro something unexpectedly). Immolate is a good closer, if the initial damage will take out the mob. It has the advantage of having a lower mana cost than shadow bolt (something to keep in mind when drain hunting). Then again, so does Searing Pain - the additional aggro doesn't matter if the mob dies. Soul Fire is a L48 spell.

Drain Soul doesn't really go with rinse and repeat. Then again, neither does any closer. It means that if your mob is over 1/2 life after the Drain Life, to reapply the dots and drain some more.
