>>HUNTERS IN ARENA!!!!<<Follow

Are Hunters any gd at arena?

At the moment i have a 70 mage and i want to lvl another character,

I would get this character to lvl 70 fairly quick as have lots of high lvl friends etc,

I would have this character strictly Arena and i really like the blood elf race, i obviously dont want a mage and dont really fancy a priest,

Being a mage i hate rogues and would be very hypocriticol to play one, So i want either a pally or hunter

If i rolled a pally i would most likely be healing and can see myself getting very bored with that as i like my DAMAGE!!!

Basically all the hunters i have come across in arena seem to be really gd and kill me fairly quick..is this just because i am a clothy or are hunters a viable class in arena?

I have heard people sayin yea hunters are really gd and i have heard ppl saying if u play hunter in arena all u will see is 'Target is not in line of sight'..anyone play a hunter in arena?

thanks alot,

Sorry about the spelling etc,

Abrakadabraa...

Au contraire (I know I spelled that wrong), if you hate rogues, it's probably because they beat you a lot (I'm assuming here), which means you SHOULD roll one to figure out their tricks. Best way to beat a class is to know how to play it yourself.

Don't jump to conclusions. Pally's can tank too, and you wont get more DPS (as a pally) than if you're tanking multiple mobs as a prot pally. I made a druid with the assumption I'd heal every instance, but people made me tank instead.

Keep in mind that most of a hunter's damage is physical, which means it'll do more damage to you than to say, a druid/warrior/paladin. Whereas unless the target is specced for -% spell damage taken, you will always do the same. It is partly because of cloth. But, a hunter is about more than damage. You need more than instant shots to be good as a hunter, you got traps, feign death, wing clip, a pet, and you need to know how to use those along with the shots, and how to play with your particular talent build.

If you're a mage, and if you've ever done an arena fight, I would assume you've been at range against melee classes. So, if you don't go OoLOS on the mage, I'd say it's safe to assume you wont go OoLOS on your hunter.

All in all, It's really up to you. You seem to have your mind made up on the hunter. You want a BE, which cuts out druids, shamans, and warriors. You absolutely dont want a rogue, priest, another mage, or a paladin...so that leaves warlock and hunter. I'll assume (since it wasn't even mentioned, and b/c it's another clothy) you don't want a warlock, so you're left with the hunter.
In other words, your mind was made up before you came here, and all you wanted was posted in the last quote I said, which is confirmation that you wont go OoLOS, in which case the only negative you see would be gone.

So, roll a hunter.

Yes, but between levels 1-69 you will probably end up doing some PvE in which you may be expected to tank/heal (assuming you're a class that can).

But whether or not you help your friends isn't up to your class, it's up to you. Blizzard has balanced them well enough to where the question isn't "should I play this class" but rather, once you start, "how do I play this class?" If you go into an arena and melee, or just shoot, you won't be helping. If you lay traps at crucial points, target the right people, and make use of your 31/41 point talents, people will love you. If you make a hunter and get it to the arenas, and you feel you arent helping, then maybe you dont know your class. Or if your group feels you aren't, maybe they arent letting you (i.e. fighting in locations you would be best at, or breaking CC).
