I'm just curious. What's the most embarassing thing you've ever done in the game? I always find it fun to fess up noobish mistakes and see how many others have done the EXACT same thing.

I've a few, but I'm going to say that a few days ago in a PuG through Uldaman, there's a room with all those Elite Dwarves (I don't remember tooo much, was my first time in Ulda), but no one told me that you have to be very careful about that room or there's crazy aggro/adds (apparently). First time, as the only caster DPS (no mage) I was sometimes on AoE duty and I thought..."Hey, what a great time to help!" Bad idea. No one yelled at me though, a few other people didn't know about the aggro/adds. We wiped.

And then I forgot to re-SS the pally >.<

We wiped again due to some bad luck.

Third time, I go to re-SS the pally and accidentally SS myself (I was using function keys to rotate through targets, I think, pally was F2 and I was F1 and I hit the wrong one). Noticed just a shade too late.

Yeah... the group was not happy with me to say the least.

Anyway, I'm just curious :)

I used to do that on raids. Damn embarrasing.

"Err. Sorry, I just soulstoned the Mage. *blush*"

Luckily I'm the GM so they had to find it funny :p

My first summon attempts, I never new you had to click on the guy you wanted to summon. So here I am trying and trying and trying and he is never showing up.

Oh and one time running through the stocks we are near the end of the instance where there are like 4 rooms off of the main room (its been so long I can't really remember). Well we pull one of the rooms and just as we are done with those mobs I see a nice little fire ball on its way to another room with the boss in it. Must have been from my imp b/c no one else had a fireball ability. Ya, we wiped. I swear I had that little bugger on defensive and that fireball must have gone 100 yards....not sure why my imp hated me that day.

I think I've made every possible summoning mistake, ever. Not knowing that the person had to be selected, not knowing you had to be partied with the people attempting the summon to get it to work, not knowing how to raid summon...

Ugh, it's a wonder I get people still asking me for summons help, hehe.

Mine are pretty much the standard fare stuff. Forgetting pet is on aggressive and causing wipes or jacking up the SS (or just plain forgetting out it).

A friend ran me through gnomeregan and he was cleaning up things and I looted behind getting xp. Then we got somewhere with some sort of ramp. He cleaned the right upper ramp and I followed. Once he cleaned down the ramp and killed the boss we forgot to get my multicolor punch card so we ran back up the ramp.

On the bottom of the ramp, the middle (lower) section wasn't cleaned at all so I agroed one there but kept running behind my friend thinking the agro will just clear since I was getting so far from it. After a few seconds there was like 20 dwarfs dropping bombs on the ground and a lot of gnomes too, there must have been like 50 mobs... maybe more but one sure thing is that there was a lot!

I got killed not long ago by some bombs and my lvl 70 friend almost got wiped too but managed to stay alive and kill them all :-) at like 5% hp left. I had soulstoned so I waited he finish the cleanup then rez back. That was a real carnage :-)

Pretty embarassing when you realize you are the one that pulled all the mobs...

After 3 weeks trying to get group going for my epic mount and when we finally made it I found out I do not have the quest in my quest log >.<

They were all very nice and waited for me to go all the way to quest giver and back, but it was still very embarrasing indeed.

I guess that it was the LifeTap incident...
Doing the SM cath and going OOM and not being able to do any damage, the other Lock in the party says... "Use LifeTap!!" and i'm going, "No man, I don't want to lose any HP" or something like that.
I get the reply "FFS! you won't die if you use it a little bit!!"

A few weeks later I had changed all my spirit from my gear to "of stamina" or "of eagle" and living happy with LifeTap...

NOOB!!

Asking where General Stoutmantle is.. while standing in front of him at sw....

getting alot of agil equips to run places.. thinking it made me run faster.. (yah that lasted till about lvl 20 LOL)<-- prolly THE single most embarassing thing)

Flying to Booty Bay, summoning FG and hes on aggressive... dying
then resummoning again in same spot.. still on aggressive, dying, and yes yes.. yet again summoning while on aggressive... and dying.. all the while with opposite faction LOLing me..

I'm like a cat. If I have an embarassing moment, it becomes "I meant to do that!"

You very much remind me of someone.

Oh and when someone mentioned lifetapping..... we were helping a pally with a horse quest and every time I would lifetap he would heal me. I tried to tell him there is no need for it and hes just wasting mana on me and I can maintain my hp just fine myself.

He didnt seem very convinced and healed me again.
Then my friend (noticing I was slightly annoyed) told him "she likes to get a bit hurt from time to time so just let her have it her way and dont interfere".
The pally did stop healing me but I was blushing all the way through DM.

Alt+tab back to the raid wiped and me at the other side of the room. talk about being the ***. whew.

Taking part in my first raid, and not being able how to figure out how to raid summons probably counts as one of my most embarrassing moments, and admitting that I still haven't figured it out probably counts as another. So any of you more experienced locks out there that can save a noob from any further 'blushing furiously behind the keyboard' moments, by explaining it to me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I always keep a few soul shards stocked in the bank - handy for summons or if you wanna boost someone and you're running low. Especially at higher levels when it starts being a bit of a trip to get to an area where you can actually get soul shards. Just a lottle tip. :)

But my most embarassing moment: Not knowing what AoE meant for my first instance run. Where I was the only caster. Funnily enough noone in the group told me off for not AoEing when asked to, so it wasn't until a while later when reading some forum I figured out my mistake... :S

Or insisting to keep my VW out the first time I was in a PUG for an instance. I think my meaning was that he would protect me. Luckily there was someone in the group who played a lock who patiently told me why I should have my Imp out. Glad that I was in a group where people actually didn't mind a beginner!

Oh, and when I was being run through SM Cath by a lvl 60 something priest from my guild so I could get Whitemane's Chapeau I was wondering why he didn't clear the adds before attacking the boss. Thinking that he probably had some tactic for taking them all I said nothing. We wiped. He didn't understand why. I explained about all adds pulling when you attack boss. He was like "Oh, you should have said something, this is my first SM solo." Whooops! Luckily I think I fed his ego a little by admitting I had just supposed he'd be able to take them all, hehe.

Wow good idea! I'll definitely use that when I get high enough (lol).

By the way...why do you have only one point in Imp. Corruption, while every other point is in Demonology? Did you just put it in last level-up? I don't want to offend or act like I know what I'm talking about (cause I don't lol), just wondering.

Guildie was already 67 when we went to DM to help her get her horsie. I particulary told her to bring lot of shards and she said she had tons.

I guess she was so excited about the whole things she just couldnt manage the wheel, candle and bell going and we had to start that part again. In the middle of the second try she was out of shards...

Well, being 67 she had to go to Outlands and farm shards there. It was very long wait. When she finally made it we all kept an eye over those annoying 3 things and yelled big red warnings when some of them was going down.

Yeah, it was my fault too, I should have brought them with me too and helped, but I thought she could manage it.
I think she was one very embarrased lock too :)

just dinged 67 yesterday and still don't have my epic mount. I usually just don't have the time to run DM as I only play for an hour at a time. The rare times I do have time, my guild pals are all MIA. So, I have my most embarrasing lock moment everytime I ride into town on my slow horse.

I sware that beggar in Stormwind laughed at me last night.

It's so nice (comforting!) to know everyone seems to always make the same mistakes. You'd think that they would make some sort of informational thing for all the classes to try and get rid of common mistakes...

Then again, there is this series of tubes called the intarwebs, and that whole "you're supposed to play with other people" thing...

It takes all 5 points to make it instant and thus castable while moving, but with the 1.5-sec global cooldown, one still has to wait before casting another spell. One point is just the right amount to speed it up as part of a rotation for casting while standing still. If one isn't so concerned about the mobility, getting Corruption to a 1.6-sec cast time means almost no delay before the next spell that wouldn't already be caused by that global cooldown.

this wasnt on my lock but my shammy but still quite fun :)

i was in rfd and everyone died and i managed to down the boss alone. then when i had to ress the others i accidently press the "ancestral recall" button next to my ressing button. i dont notice this until im standing in stv :S

the other guys where friends of me, so we just had a laugh about it =)

Forgetting to SS the priest is a classic.

Also, it's a bit embarassing to get killed in world pvp and realize that you didn't use your cooldowns, and as a bonus your ss just ran out ^^

I didn't even think about that... :D I actually did only just put it in there my last level up. Had run out of really interesting things in Demonology and am also considering a respec to Affliction since I got my hunter when I feel like pet-tank gameplay, so I was just kind of starting to put a few points into Affliction to see how I like it. Gonna wait with my respec now since I've decided to move onto a PvE server though.

Anyhow, glad my soul shard tip helped someone!

This is a little OT as well, but since people asked...

Aw come on guys...where are the stories about EPIC HOWL OF TERROR WIPES!!!!

If only I could bubble like a priest or pally, THEN I would show those pugs... :)

K, first time in SH, warrior tank leading the charge is french canadian, and fails to fully explain that we are pulling everyone to the end of the hall and AoEing them down. So as we are running along, we pull the first four, and I Howl em off the warrior...and IT WORKS! (woot!) So at the end of the hall, when there are like 20 on the tank...I figure...WORKED WELL ONCE, Ill DO IT AGAIN! Bad idea...the posted guards nearby took exception...

Summoning someone standing next to you on a raid...(Bah! I have TONS of shards *snicker*...and I was worried you were gonna body pull that mob over there *covers head*)

Trying to banish the humanoid while your Succy is seducing the demon...oops

Seed of Corruption breaks EVERY type of CC you can think of...oops

Killing thyself via life tap...oops (Our healer is SOOO good, I just stopped paying attention to my hps after the second boss! *puts bag over head*)

Fun topic!
