Shaman Leveling GuideFollow

I have not seen a shaman leveling guide so I figured I would start one.

Level 1-9 do your beginner quests in what ever zone your race starts in (alliance I recommend getting a lock buddy port you to where ever the dwarves start at the quests run together and with 3 hours of play you can be level 10 or better).

Levels 10-14 Take ancestral knowledge in the enhance tree it wont make a huge difference but the more mana you have the less down time you have.

Levels 15-19 Spec into Thundering Strikes the more damage you put out the faster things die the faster you level.

Levels 20 Two Handed get you a big *** mace or ax and start going to town.

Levels 21-23 Improved Lightning shield as the only shield you have it’s a good way to do more damage wile still saving that invaluable mana pool.

Level 24 Improved Ghost Wolf it’s not just a player versus player talent it’s the only way you have of getting around faster then walking (also when you pull 4 mobs by mistake it’s a good way of getting out of where ever your at)

Level 25-29 Flurry, besides 2 handed this is going to be your bread and butter allowing you to deal out more pain in less time.

Levels 30-32 Elemental Weapons, once again your weapon buffs are something your going to have up at all times so why not make them better.

Level 33 Spirit Weapons, Most tanks are going to be Arms / Furry spec warriors or bear druids and don’t have the agro generating abilities they have in end game so help them out and not take agro off of them.

Level 34 Improved Weapon Totems, Any time your in a party you should have something down for your tanks / rogues and this is a good way of increasing the overall DPS of the group (it wont show on DPS caused by you but you know where it came from.

Level 35-39 Here you get some freedom you can take a mix of both the Mental Quickness and Weapon Mastery (just keep in mind your instant cost spells are not limited to your shocks but your totems too your totems are what defines the shaman class)

Level 40-41 Here is where your gear is going to chose what you take when. If you have a real nice blue 2 handed dishing out 4k DPS then take Storm Strike If your using an out dated POS then jump into Dual Wield.

Important as of 2.0 if you mix 2 different levels of wind flurry then you will not receive the hidden 3 sec cool down. As of 2.1 you will need to go Wind Flurry Main hand and (I would take Frost Band off hand (runners are a bi*ch

Level 42-44 Dual Wield Spec weather you like the idea or not you will do more DPS with 2-1 handed weapons then you will with a 2 hander.

45-49 Unleashed Rage wile dual wielding you are going to see a lot of crits and with this talent you will be buffing both yourself and the party at the same time (and tanks / rogues will love you)

50 Shamanistic Rage with this talent you will never find your self sitting drinking water wishing you had rolled another class.

That will get you through the pain part of being a shaman and will now allow you to truly become the definition of a “High Bread” This is the first time you should ever think of going rsto without earth shield then you are just a severely gimped priest in mail armor. If you want to be elemental hang out as enhance till you reach 58 from there you can start collecting BC gear and put out massive amounts of DPS.

Choosing your professions….. I mainly recommend Skinning & Leather working for shaman they can make there own gear and sell what they are not going to use, I personally am an Alchemy / Herbalism Once you start getting into end game then this is the main money making profession and I don’t ever need to worry about Rare craft items or rare drops to make my items and once you are end game focus then you will only be making 5-7 different pots and you can sell the rest of your herbs. In a distant 3rd I would take mining blacksmithing for some of the rare weapons they can craft and once you hit 40 and start wearing mail then you can start making your own supplies in any case if your going to take Blacksmithing then you should go Weapon spec I wet myself when I see some of those T1 –T3 maces. If have your heart set on being an enchanter (I do not recommend ..... ) then take Tailoring as your other you will end up making items disenchanting them and using your mats to enchant your own gear or sell mats.

But you could take blacksmithing and enchanting if you want to spend all of your time in org selling +5 health to bracers for a living.

Hope this helps

This guide is both decent and humorous.
