This is a talent build/progression thread. You've been warned ;]

Howdy,
I'm looking forward to making a feral druid (I'm on my way).
The final spec will be http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0zZxGGsfroezioVxhz

I'm not thinking of primal tenacity because I dislike 'hoping' that something works when planning my attack. I will mostly use cat form with shifts into Bear (furor and natural shapeshifter here) so I can launch a Feral Charge, Bash and shift back to Shred.
Yadda yadda, never mind.
generally I'm going to play tactical, well thought fights and abuse the Druid's "I'm outta here" capabilities if anything goes hairy.

the THING about this thread is
The druid's talents are extreme, compared to other classes'. Talents like Shredding attacks, Ferocity, Feral Swiftness, Mangle, Sharpened Claws, Furor, Natural Shapeshifter, Neture's Grip or Omen of Clarity are all very, very powerful and each and every one of them gives the druid a large improvement to his or her PvP capabilites.

I want to make a feral drood build like above, but I need advice on the order of progression to have a constantly maximised PvP capability.

What should I be taking first? When should I take Furor? When Nat. Shapeshifter? When N. Grasp?
What do you think my build should be like at level 30/35/40/... in order to have most PvP viability?

Respecs may happen, not too often though.

Thanks in advance.

That's kind of a tough question cause it'll most likely change from a Druid to another. I think the biggest issue is with Furor. Personally I'd go down Feral until Mangle before I take Furor but I know a lot of other Druids swear by it. And yes, it really is that good. But stopping Feral for 5 levels to take it will hurt your DPS while it allows for better flexibility and tactics.

In any case, Furor does not have to be taken until at least Feral Charge. It's always useful to have rage/energy when shifting but without FC you won't have a specific reason to get it.

My own preferred talent progression:
-Ferocity
-Brutal Impact (Taken before FI cause you don't have Cat form at this point yet)
-Feral Instinct
-Feral Swiftness (Maybe not ultra useful in PvP but that speed bonus is just too good)
-Feral Charge
-Sharpened Claws
-Primal Fury
-Predatory Strikes
-Feral Faerie Fire
***************************
Now is, IMO, the best moment to grab Furor if you don't mind delaying the acquisition of Mangle. Shredding Attacks is your next really good talent but you won't benefit from it before level 36 because you don't have Pounce yet. It would still be good in PvP but not in PvE. Getting Furor now will let you get up to 36 before investing in Shredding Attacks. I would personally wait and still move down Feral.
***************************
-Savage Fury 1/2
-Shredding Attacks
-Heart of the Wild
-Leader of the Pack
-Savage Fury 2/2
-Imp LotP
-Survival of the Fittest 1/3
-Predatory Instincts
-Mangle
*Move to Resto*
-Furor
-Naturalist
-Omen of Clarity
*Move to Balance*
-Nature's Grasp
*Fill in the holes*
-Natural Shapeshifter
-Survival of the Fittest 3/3
-Thick Hide

That's my take on it. Many would do differently cause in the end it's a matter of which talents do you make most use of and which ones appeal more to your playstyle.

EDIT: Duh, forgot the alternative route down with Furor before Mangle. Basically:
-Furor
-Shredding Attacks 2/2
-Savage Fury 1/2
and the rest of the progression is the same from here on except that you already have Furor so once you get Mangle you can jump directly to Naturalist.

God Sev! you always get to the posts before me! hahaha

But at any rate I agree with you on all but 1 point I think that with Feral Swiftness is a under rated PvP talent. Think about it you will have a better movement in and out of stealth than a rouge and be dodging blows that would other wise be chewing thru your health.

Having said that this talent doesn't come into it's FULL potental till you get cat form at lvl20. However a +4% to dodge in bear is still very nice. :)

You do realize that you cannot grab this talent before 20 anyway, right? >_>

What I would do

Ferocity
Thick Hide
Brutal Impact
Feral Charge
Feral Swiftness
Furor

...

Then at 50 respec into Mangle and regain Furor over the next five levels.
