#1 May 15 2007 at 4:53 PM Rating: Default
Well, im a lvl 52 druid and have never really used my proffessions up until i got enough to manipulate the AH.....anyway i now realize the importance of havin profs to fall back on and i was wondering witch ones i should pick.....
ive looked at enchanting and mining and that seems to be a potent combination....but i would still like to have some input on what u have and what u think would work...

thanks for your input :)

wel depends on what your looking for. you could go alchemy/herb and that you could make a little extra dough while also having potions that could save u many many times. you could go leather/skin and make items for yourself that would help you out stat wise. or just pick any other combination and you could just sell and make money.

Here's a break down for you (based on my opinion):

Enchanting - Can be a very lucrative trade, but the materials are expensive because you have to disenchant items to get your materials. The better the item, the better the materials.

Alchemy - Until you get to the recipes that are skill level 300 and above, there's not much money in brewing. The real money lies in the Herbalism because the more rare plants/herbs tend to sell very well in the AH. For instance, on my server (Antonidas), a stack of 20 Fellweed sell for about 20g and from what I understand, it can be found all over the place in Outland. So 15-30 minutes of picking can make you 15-20g per farming run.

Blacksmithing - First, you have to decide whether to be a weapon crafter or an armor crafter. Then you need to find the rare and exotic recipes in order to make things that sell well. (One of your first items that should sell well is the Moonsteel Broadsword because it is used in a quest and let's face it, people are lazy and/or impatient. Anyway, this recipe can be purchased at a vendor in Booty Bay.

Jewlcrafting - This may be the most lucrative business of all the trades. Rings and necklaces alone will fatten your pockets fast. Take Mining with jewelcrafting and you can prospect the ore you mine for jems. In addition, you really get some awesome stuff to make for yourself. I don't know of any other craft with such handy stuff (Maybe enchanting.)

Tailoring - The best paying part of this trade is when you can make the 14, 16 and 20+ slot bags. Though I have been told that you need an s-load of stuff for each one, so hopefully you will be associated with a generous guild.

Leatherworking - The best thing a leatherworker makes (and sells) are the Armor Reinforcement Kits. They add an armor bonus to any type of armor, beit cloth, leather, mail or plate.

Believe it or not, Fishing can be lucrative as well, simply because there are fish that are used in quests and in trade components.

Though there's not alot of money to be made in Cooking, Dragonbreath Chili alone is a reason for learning it up. Food that makes you breath fire (and do damage in the process.) Priceless!

To me, Herb/Alch seems best for druids.
It's because we are a hybrid class, good but not best at anything. Alchemy potions can boost anything you want at the moment. That helped me a lot in lower level instances when I was healing, because as a feral spec I had little mana. I gave the warrior a stack of health pots, def pots, troll's blood pots, myself a stack of mana pots and voila, we're good.

It's like an additional buff to all party members if you spend time on picking flowers.

That is a very good point. Potions to essentially make up for a Druid's short-comings when leveling out with a relative class such as warrior or rogue. I never really though of it that way. Thanks.

I'm not sure I agree with that statement. Bear/Dire Bear form is in many ways like a Warrior, but we'll never deal as much damage as a Warrior who has the advantage with weapon bonuses, weapon abilities/enchants, and their over-all talent pack. Cat form is very much like a Rogue, but again they have an advatage over Druids (like the Warrior does over the bear). The Rogues "Sap" ability is awesome.

Don't get me wrong, because of the "Jack of all trades" build of Druids, I think they are one of the best classes in the game. I LOVE being a druid. I just don't think that we quite measure up to our specialized counterparts.

not damage wise mind u.... just if u play ur class well then u can beat any class
Skill>all else and not just one form like catch a warrior in cat open with a few bleeds then quickly use combo points then shift to bear to take the hits strategy i use all the time ;P
