Please don't turn this into a flame thread by going on about how BM isn't as awesome as MM spec at 70. I don't intend to swapping to MM spec until I feel its absolutely necessary. BM hasn't served me wrong yet, and I love it.

I just hit the big 7-0 a few days ago. During a Mechanar run last night (first end-game instance ever \^^/), my feline companion caught up with me. During the run, I noticed that he was taking a lot of damage from the big arcane stone things... After killing a handful of them I noticed its ability when the damage started and starting using Intimidation to stun it. It more or less solved that problem... but when the cooldown on that wasn't up and the mob used that ability... my cat would die really quickly. I was fortunate enough to have a healadin that didn't mind tossing some heals at my pet (was healing the lock's minion too).

uhh... I think my question is: What should I do if there is a mob my pet just simply can't melee? I feel slightly awkward just having my pet out to do bestial wrath...

My 'solution' was simply pulling my pet back to myself everytime it got messed up and bandaging it before sending it right back in. The pally was doing most of the heals though when I called my pet back.

Now, I ALSO have a wind serp, which practically spams her lightning breath with my crits. However, I don't quite know how to keep her next to me and just casting her breath instead of charging in to melee. I've never really had the need to practice doing that until now. Is it possible to do? If I tell her to stay, she goes passive because she's not being hit. I'm afraid to have a pet on agressive in an instance... actually.. if I had her on agressive she'd just dash in to melee anyway once she aggro'd. Is there anyone on these boards that also uses a wind serp end-game that could suggest how to do this?

Is there ANY one type of DPS pet that fares well in end-game instances? The patch should be making the instances a bit more pet-friendly with that learned passive skill to avoid AOE, but... still...

... and my last question... WTF SHOULD I DO WITH THESE 5 TALENT POINTS?! XD

I say spend 3 points in hawkeye. It boggles me why any hunter wouldn't have it, as this talent gives us the advantage of having the longest attack range in the game. It's money for PVP for chasing down other players and makes your life in PVE a lot easier as well. Consider improved hunter's mark as well for the sake of helping out the group and your pet in damage.
I'm not sure about pet survivability in instances. I tend not to care as much being MM.

this is what i would go for as BM.
having the ability to quikly ress your pet in combat to save a healers *** as well as being able to pump out nice crits is good.

and spirit bond does very very little for you, imp. revive will do a lot more for you.
