So after finally reaching 60+ and looking up the new 60+ abilities (Envenom, CloS etc.) I started rethinking my build. My present build is linked in my sig. For those who don't like The Armory here it is

Presently...

And then I started thinking...if Envenom is going to be nature damage and ignore armor (does anyone know if its affected by nature resistance..or +nature damage?) will a Rogue specced into Assassin. really use Evis. as much or Envenom=new Evis? Will Envenom be able to replace Evis? If so, then perhaps taking both poison talents would be essential for a Muti/Envenom type strategy. But then I have more than 41 points in one tree!! It seems like blasphemy; I see so many builds that never go beyond 41 points in anyone tree. I wonder if that is because people just want to experience as much of different trees as possible while getting a 41 point benefit or because its wasteful to have more than 41 points in one tree. I started playing around with some trees and trying to see if I could have a 41+ muti build that made Envenom really killer as a finisher and I came up with this...

This build seems attractive to me even though I really wanted to take all 3 points of serrated blades (not possible with 41+ outside of sub tree) but this seems to make great use of poison applications for muti and increased damage for Envenom.

High level rogues talk to me. Is this worth it? Or am I overestimating Envenom's viability and power? This is mostly a PvE discussion btw...I haven't gotten serious with PvP (RP server), but the arena looks cool (gotta get to 70 hence the PvE focus :P )

Now, at this moment my guild is short on high level warriors and the one 60+ warrior we have is Fury specced at the moment so I may need to get Improved EA (yea I hear all the L2Play N00b coming) because all tanks are prot pallies (is it worth it btw?)

Thanks for reading and whatever comments anyone has. Sorry for such a long post.

If you plan to raid as a Rogue roll Combat, if you insist on raiding with Mutilate, roll Combat over Subtlety as your support tree, end of discussion.

My question is not so concerned with raiding etc. if the time comes when I start to take raiding seriously then perhaps I will go back to Combat (which I found utterly boring from 20-50 btw). I'm thinking more along the lines of soloing (which is what I do most) and grouping outside of instances, PvP and such. This isn't about what build is best for raiding or pvp etc., there are umpteen threads for that if I ever need it. I'm mainly concerned with fun and envenom sounds fun.

I'm simply asking is it worth it to bother adding more than 41 points into assassin. to get both vile and improved poisons to get the envenom damage boost?

So I sincerely hope that isn't the end of the discussion because I don't think my question has been addressed yet.

Fair enough, when you say PvE most of the time it refers to raids because any spec can work in solo play, grinding and 5-mans.

And yes more than 41 into Assassination can be worth it, but only with Sub as your support tree.

With that said, your build needs to drop Serrated Edges and Ghostly Strike, seeing how both are pretty worthless with this dagger build.

With the next patch you can put 3 points into Imp. Eviscerate for more damage seeing how that most likely will be your primary finisher regardless of 5/5 Imp. Poisons, Poisons can be resisted and if your CPs generate quicker than your Deadly Poisons do you might be left trying to Shiv and thus potentially wasting your Find Weakness.

Yea that has turned out to be a mistake. Ghostly Strike seemed really cool but I never use/need it.

And since I'm presently not ambushing a great deal (CS Muti KS Muti seems to work well and leave most enemies at a major disadvantage for most fights) that leaves 3 points for Imp. Evis.

Thanks for that Element.

And btw my bad on the vocab confusion. I didn't realize PvE usually = Raiding. I will be more clear in the future.
