Shaman quests.Follow

I can't help wondering about the shaman class quests. I looked through allakhazam and thottbot to see if there were any after 30, and it appears that there isnt any until level 58. And I'm not even sure if that is worth doing since of the quest rewards in outlands afterwards. Im probably just stupid and can't figure it out.

However, if I am right and there are no more quests until then, doesn't that mean that there is no class specific gear until out tier 1-4 items? Which kind of sucks considering that the warrior has its 2h axe, warlocks have their sick robes, and hunters have sick bows and such. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Again, I probably can't figure out that there is quests between the 40-58 gap. Please don't flame this if I am just a ****** :D

You are not a ******, but you do need to think about the question. What are you compairing it to? if the awnser is Warrior/mage/priest you need to know some game history. they were the first 3 classes and realistly the most flushed out. Most classes have a huge gap in class quests, and partly for the reasons you have explained, why have a quest when you can do better before you would have been able to complete the quest ?

for the most part the class quests are a way to give you a class tool(pickpocketing for rogues, bear form for durids, hunter Pet quests.......)Very few classes have gear quests in the mid part of the game, that is of corse unless you were one of the classes that needed gear when the game was young(they have added piles of crap that mostly devaladiate the need for class item quests)

I will give you a example, the Warrior Whirlwhind weapon quest:
Sure if you have two buddies run you though the quest as soon as you can get it, you are sitting pretty with a nice soward/axe... but if you actualy did this quest, at a approaiate level, you would be salty with the time you had the item, because Uldman likely has a better weapon for you, if not, ZF sure dose.

So as the folks at Bliz developed the game they thought why add this type of stuff when the players would be better served if they made more general stuff that allowed the player to choose how they developed rather than making it the same game for every warrior, now they can hunt instances..... that kind of stuff

The only thing i see class quests relevent for is new skills, and honestly i would rather buy them then do a quest.

I completely agree, when I played my mage, I was often angry because I would spend a good day or too finishing a quest, just to be disappointed with a crappy staff. However, it is always nice to have some sort of gear just suited to your class, makes you feel unique instead of a million other people having your same chest armor, or weapon, or whatever. However, I did not even think about how useful it is that we do get our skills from the class. We spend those 30-some levels getting those four totems that we use for the rest of our gaming time. I would rather have totems than an axe that I would throw away in two or three levels.

Every class has a quest that they get at level 50. The shaman one's called "Da Voodoo.

we also get the epic helm at 60 which not all classes get.

The totem trinket from this quest is quite useful. I have used it often. When you do ST I recommend choosing that reward.
