PvP druid/rogueFollow

I friend and I recently rolled a NE druid and rogue duo with the intent to make them pvp characters (pvE server). Neither of us is familiar really with pvp but we did pick toons we were already familiar with.

Any thoughts on how we should proceed? What level/specs we should be before entering bg's and areas and whatever other pvp opportunities there are.

I (the druid) am figuring on going balance (ie nature's grasp) for the first few levels and then switch to feral when I get kitty. Are there particular talents that are more pvp oriented than others?

As far as PvPing, the plan is to be two masters of stealth who hit quickly and hard while I can still heal/tank if/when needed. I'm taking LW as a profession and he's got alchemy. Twinking is not really possible as our other toons are horde.

Lemme get a few things straight.

1- Why go Ally if all your other characters are Horde? You could supply them with money and whatnot much more easily. (And you won't get to kill the Gnomes, think about it man!)

2- You wanna go Balance and then respec Feral when you get Cat form? No, don't, it's really useless and you'll be wasting that first 1g. Levels progress too quickly at that level for it to be worth it. Just go ahead and take Ferocity and keep going down Feral.

3- In which bracket do you intend to stay? That makes a huge difference if you want people to advise you builds and whatnot.

4- If you wanna be a duo stealth team, then surely you will go Feral. In that case take 5/5 Furor and put the rest in Feral. (Up to whichever talent your level bracket allows you)

1) Because NE are the only ones that allow druids and rogues. We're not too hardcore. We mostly just want to level up together and learn how to PvP. (I don't even duel on my other druid).

2) Since it'll be another 10 levels before I get kitty, and another 10 before he's really useful, I figured I'd start by grabbing nature's grasp since it looks to be useful in keeping me alive. But, maybe it's not, I've never speced for it before.

3) I have no idea. Any suggestions? Druid seems to be mostly useful at 40 plus, but it's all relative.

4) Okay, sounds good.

1- I see. You could do something like Tauren Druid - Orc Rogue and be able to party from level 10+ but I get your point.

2- Like I said, 10 levels are fast and really the only reason you'd pick NG is if you're soloing. With a Rogue/Druid combo you won't be dying much so I don't think you'll need it so badly. I'd seriously advise going straight into Feral.

3- I'd say 30-39 if you wanted to run the flag in WSG but if you're just looking to kill people pretty much any bracket is good. Last I heard 40-49 is the least tweaked bracket but I may be wrong. (Might depend on your battlegroup too)

Here is a list of talents that you NEED for PvP:

1. Furor: Instant rage/energy when you shift.

2. Brutal Impact: Adds 1 second to your pounce and bash stuns.

3. Feral Charge: Charge and stun your opponet (sp?), interupts casting.

4. Primal Tenacity: At max ranks gives a +15% vs. stun and fear.

5. preditory Instincts: Incresses you crit damage by 10% and your chance to avoid AoE damage by 15%

I dont think feral charge stuns. Last time I used it all it did was keep them from moviing (like a snare) Oh and don't forget feral swiftness. Outside you may be even faster stealthing then he is.

Well obviously if you want to stealh alot then go feral. Or you could just roll another rogue...

Yeah, Feral Charge does not stun. It only interrupts whatever the target was doing and then roots them for 4 seconds.

Thought about that, but druid's ability to heal and/or tank could be invaluable.

In my opinion Nature's Grasp is an excellent pvp tool if you know how to use it and it's not a bad choise to put a point or two on it. It helped me several times to get rid of pets, it forces rogues to waste their precious vanish and then I can immobilise them easier, it's an instand buff (no mana cost after the new patch) that lasts for quite some time (20-30 secs I think - this is more or less a run through the territory between the two bases in WSG), it's castable in bear, and kitty forms as well so you don't need to shift out of them to cast it, plus, it is invaluable when you run the flag in WSG.

p.s. If not maxed, best use of NG is in bear form or you can't really hope to survive the hammering of a warrior or a rogue in any other form until it roots them (it's pure luck in that case)

p.s.2 Feral charge is a life saver even against melee classes. If my hit points are low (not really low cause this is too risky) and there is a bit of a distance between us I usually feral charge them, jub away once, shapeshift to caster, cast regrowth, shapeshift back to bear or kitty, continue fighting

No worries, just trying to avoid confusion with the terms used.

The real term for this would be an "Interrupt" skill. Kinda like the Rogue's Kick.

For the rogue...

Subtlety. Pure Subtlety. Any other build is useless in PvP (until lvl 50).

Make sure he has Opportunity, Imp. Ambush, Initiative, and Preparation (if your level cap allows it).
