Hello all.

I play a 70 Paladin, and I just recently made a mage. All I have to say is 'wow.' I love my Mage and her DPS. I love Frost Nova, and sticking mobs in their place. I love not having to have leet gear to do the best DPS I can do.

I decided to spec in Frost, as I heard that it's the best for leveling, and have put 5/5 points in Imp. Frost Bolt so far. Was this a good idea? Where should I put my next points?

I'm not asking for you to make a Talent tree for me, but I would love to see yours.

If you go to armory search for Enigmen, on Spinebreaker. You can see my build which has worked extremely well for leveling, especially with AoE grinding

Would it be possible for you to post it on here? The computer I currently am at crashes when I try to use Armory.

Frost is a nice way to go. I also have a 55 Undead Frosty Mage. They are fun and have a lot of potential with AoE grinding. Although I have not checked the other builds I am not going to say Frost is the best. But it seems to be a big favorite among a lot of Mages.

I liked frost for a while in fact i played my mage as a frosty until lvl 30 probably even 40, but i was always dead >_<. okay okay i was a newb but i saw my spells make poor damage and after doing some reading i sticked to full fire. the damage is awesome!!! i'm not saying frost is bad ( i'd get my butt kicked ) but if you intend to do single target leveling in my opinion stick with fire your battles will be shorter. little hint on how much damage you can do: i do almost always crits that deal 1k to 1.6k of damage + 2 ticks of around 200 to 320.

Hopefuly you can use wowhead, http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=RZZVVMIsfxowot is what I have currently. It's not the best build ever, however it's suited me pretty well. The only thing I would change if I really wanted to respec is I'd take points out of Winter's Chill and throw them into Elemental Precision.

Unfortunetly I don't agree, but different taste for different people. With my build I can AoE grind, and solo mob grind fairly easy. The fact that you were always dead as frost is really weird, because, frost is about control and survival. I almost never get ganked unless it's a 2-shot. I almost never die to mobs incase something goes wrong, and I rarely use health pots. Plain and simple, I think frost is awesome. But do what you like.

Thanks for updating that, Enigmen. That's actually what I was planning on shooting for spec-wise, so it's nice to know I was on the right track.

The Index of Mage Guides has several guides that should helpful. In particular, the "Talent Progression Guide".

I would suggest straight fire for leveling. It does more damage and kills mobs faster which means leveling faster. If you like frost, I'd respec to it instead of leveling up through it, but that is a matter of taste.

Above all, have fun. I know people who have leveled arcane mages and had a blast. They didn't level as fast, or do as much damage, but they pegged their fun-meter.

that build is for aoe grinding only for instances it is not that effective here is my build http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=Rf0zZZVAGIofxoioz its frost with a tiny bit of arcane plan on putting more points into arcane consentration. However i would also reccomend that you give fire a shot once you hit 36-40 because thats when the fire tree is at its prime combustion is great at 40 here is a good fire build for a level 40 http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=kZEg0zbccoho personally i only switched because in Outlands survival is a bit more necessary to grind i plan on switching to 10/48/3 at 70 because i love fire frost is just needed for me at this point.
