Hey. First off just wanna say how great this website is. Its helped me loads with WoW related things. Keep it going!! xD

So, to my question. I need help with a build, but i want this build to be a pvp and pve build. I wanna dominate pvp and pve ( if thats possible ) and was wondering is there a build like that? If so please post it and help me out.

thanks

First of all, which talent spec you want depends a lot on your play-style. Skill also counts for a good bit - a skilled mage can make a bad talent spec work, but the best talent spec won't save someone who should've rolled a warrior instead.

So .. tell us what you want (beyond domination). Fire is all about damage; frost still has good damage and more survivability; arcane is weird, but later compliments both fire and frost well. Each one has upsides and downsides depending even on what kind of pve you're doing - I love frost for soloing, but with a good instance group, it feels like the extra damage from fire would help too. Later, you can do aoe farming, and frost is generally preferred to fire there (fire/arc can supposedly work too, but either way your aoe build is going to be gimped for instancing or pvp).

Basically, I'm trying to say that you should read the sticky on mage talents on top of the mage forum, play around with a different build or two to decide how you like to play, then decide. You can always change it later, or post again with a build to ask for advice.

First, rank PvE and PvP in importance and look at your playstyle.

If you're a PvP fiend who also loves PvE and you prefer to live longer, I'd go with a deep frost spec. You won't be quite as effective in PvE, but you'll still be quite useful and you'll be running one of the best PvP builds around.

However, if you want to be great at PvE while still being viable in PvP and you don't mind dying quick so long as you can kill quick, then I'd suggest a hybrid arcane/fire build. 34/27/0 or 33/28/0 are my suggestions as to that.

I know I didn't link any specific builds, but I know you can find them all around here.

Thanks for your posts :D

So to answer the questions. i think that for me the best build would be a frost since i would prefer to survive than to die all the time, lol. But im gonna be pvping aswell as raiding. pvping with 2 mates of mine who absolutely LOVE pvp, and me who loves both pvp and pve.

I think that a frost/arc build? or maybe pure frost?

what u guys think?

I'd recommend you look up variations of an 18/0/43 frost build. Personally, before the Arctic Winds change that's upcoming, I would have said that 40/0/21 would have edged it out on damage even without Winter's Chill being put up by someone else, but with the change, I'd lean towards the deep frost due to its utility if I was planning to go frost in some way, shape, or form.
