First, there is the link to my character.

Second, I have several ideas/questions about this and other builds out there.

Isn't the purpose of a build to have fun while doing it? I like seeing Unique builds that work well. It seems like there is a lot of the wanna be a cookie cutter build that someone calculated does x more damage than a certain build, played a certain way.

I thought up this build and have been using it quite effectively (to my knowledge anyway)for my play style. I thought it would be great to have the ability to pre-meditate someone, ambush, cold blood, evis them. Depending on the mob, prep, then cold blood hit them again. Prep I find useful in many other situations as well. I find that caster mobs/ clothie pvp peeps are usually dead in less than 5 or so seconds into combat, providing I get the initial jump (of course).

But I'm guess I'm asking, Is there any non-generic builds out there that give a decent damage/fun play style.

I see sooo many people wanting to just go for what is the "best calculated build/gear in the game" and ignore the aspect of individuality. Game mind sets are different than real life mindsets I guess, or we would all be going after the "most efficient" methods in our life and luxury items would not exist.

For those of you who hate post longer than a few sentences, here is the brief.
1. Suggestions for build. (I like daggers, so no weapon type switches please)
2. Why always the cookie cutters? I wanna see some unique/fun play styles.
3. Good build for fun vs. efficiency?

Wow! Thank you! Finally a considerate poster.
1. Depends on what you use your build for, if you commonly do instances and grinding, then I suggest you take some out of assas. and get shadowstep (it's alsofun) just for that bonus - sub. can be used for pvp/pve, but if you really want to do instances and grind rep and stuff when you get to 70 I suggest you do part sub. and mostly combat.

2. You can be unique and have a good build, it's just that tons of people use the same builds because...you don't have much to choose from and certain builds are for certain things. You don't want full assas. for instances. By unique/fun designs you mean the abilities? Because most of your talent points go into buffs. If you mean abilities you are probable meaning the highest ones in each branch since the lower ones are common and boring. Shadowstep, mutilate - people don't go full into a spec because they want the bonuses of other specs also unless they're basing their char on a complete field. Whew, I'm just randomly posting ideas on this subject. Ok I'm done.

I dont know when people started labeling muti PVP, I mean I do well in PVP but I out damage the combat rogues in my guild through the instances we run. Really similar gear and everything.

The cookie cutters build exist because they work and use hours upon hours of people trying stuff out and coming to conclusion.

A lot of people find 'not being a scrub' fun, and as such want a good build.

The other thing to consider is that they are plenty of people out there with poor talent choices... so even if you do that, you aren't really unique at all.

That being said, if you want a really fun ability that is saddly not worth the points you put into it, try out Shadowstep. I swear you'll have fun witn it. :)
