Why would a hunter melee in PVPFollow

For clarification, what class are you? If you're a survival hunter you could probably pull off meleeing another hunter (assuming they're BM or Marks) because you will melee better than they will. But for the most part, it's just huntards who think they're rogues.

A few things though...1. alliance SUCKS at AB. I play both ally and horde, and I have to say on my horde (only toon I've done extensive BG's on) I've won probably 90-95% of my AB's.

I'm just wondering if you're a hunter (which it kind of looks like from your post) how you wound up severely beating the other hunter, unless you're twinked or you are a melee hunter yourself.

Oh okay, so you didnt go toe-to-toe. Maybe he was OOA?

If I am SV and another hunter isnt, I will pretty much always try to melee.. between deterence, counterattack, savage strikes, surefooted, resourcefulness entrapement, and typically high hp builds, its a lot better than trying to take a marksman on from range, or letting a BM hit on you while maintaining long range..

Traps are just as easily avoidable by a hunter as anyone else.. moreso since you know what to expect.

The thing about the abilities you use to keep someone from range, is that they are just as effective at keeping people IN range. And, an MM hunter particularly kept in range is basically useless. I would say that if you killed him that easily, he probably sucked pretty badly.

I can understand trying to melee with another hunter, but only if the other hunter closes in, not as the primary method of attack. Additionally, once you started shooting and he was trying to chase you down instead of shooting back, the only thing I can think about is, maybe he forgot to load up on ammo before the BG.

I occasionally end up meleeing instead of trying to get ranged distance because there are several opponents, all of whom have some kind of snare on me. I’d rather turn around and try to hit a little than keep trying to run while they whack at my back.

1v1, I’ve hurt some rogues and warriors pretty good by meleeing because they didn’t expect it. I don’t know if those would be considered “good” warrs and rogues, or maybe their gear was not some uber heavy STA/DEF gear, but anyway, the end result is, it was a better melee result than I had expected. So don’t be afraid to hit a few times if you need to, but of course, try to get away if you can.

I try and melee when i get snared too, its just i usually try and drop a frost trap and then FD to get rid of agro off all the guys slamming on me, and alot of the time (supprisingly enough), they stop attacking and walk away from me, cause all they see is a hunter being wailed on by more then 1 person, whose quickly dying, so when they see me drop dead, they arent suprised at all.

In my mind a hunter using only melee weapons is like a rogue using his bow/throw weps./gun/crossbow for primary damage, it just makes no sense to me.

The only time I have meleed in PvP was in a BG where some level 30 person ran up(I was 39), and I meleed them to death to make them look foolish.

um my main is hunter and also i have a twink 19 hunter, and I use a 2hander with fiery and destroy all kthankz (F U +25 AGI FIGHT AGAINST DEE MACHEENZ)

let me guess, you complain on the O-borads that rogues are killing you in melee?
