Hi there... long time no... write from my part ^_^.. (ok i did a lot of reading in the mean while)

I had a discussion with my RL friend and we dont realy came to an agreement... so i come and ask you :

What is the ratio at which intelect = % crit chance... ( in short how much int would i need to get 1% extra crit chance?...

ty

P.S. if u can point me to an article/site where i can read the different transformations betwenn crit/int for different clases that would be great...

ty again :P

I don't know the answer, but you could look at your own stats, write down your INT and your crit%. Then remove a couple items that has int on it, write down your new int and new crit% then take the difference of each to give you a ratio.

for instance:

Currently have 200 int which yields 9% crit
remove gloves and staff
Now have 150 int which yields 7%

that would mean 50 int to 2% crit which reduces to 25 int for every 1%

********************NOTE************************
The above numbers were random numbers to show and example and were not intended on being fact. I simply made up numbers.

Ok you real number people, would my method work?? I am a newb so I am guessing here.

I think there is a lvl to stat ratio involved in that calculation as well. I dont pay attention to crit so much as affliciton (lowly 8% crit) but I know that on my rogue, at 29 I had 24% crit and 33% dodge, dinged 30 and it dropped dramatically to 20% and 30% respectively with the same gear. I really think that your best bet is to use +spell crit gear over INT to get your crit higher, because I just tried adding some straight up intel to my 70 warlock and even adding over 100 intel I gained fractions to actual crit %.

Source

Intellect

Abbreviated Int

Increases the rate at which you learn weapon skills. (Some people claimed here that it also increases the rate at which you learn other skills, including tradeskills, but Blizzard explicitly states "weapon skills" (source here). Until a source is given for any other claim, we should stick to Blizzard's words.)
Increases your Mana points. Each point of intellect gives you 15 Mana points.
Increases your chance to score a critical hit with spells. For mages, at level 60, 59.5 points of Intellect equal 1% chance to crit with spells. Varies depending on class.
Unlike other spellcasters, Paladins have a base 3.33% chance to crit, which is then increased by Intellect.
A post by Tseric gave the exact figures at level 60 for spell crit for all casters except paladins. They are as follows (post 2.0 paladin information added later):

Int at 60 Int per 1% crit chance \/ Int per 1% crit chance @ 70
Warlock___60.6________________________________81.92
Druid ____60.0________________________________80
Shaman____59.5________________________________80
Mage______59.5________________________________80
Priest____59.2________________________________80
Paladin___54__________________________________80

I don't worry about INT to crit. If I want to up my chance to crit, I look for +spell crit gear, not +INT gear. If I want to up my mana pool, I look for +INT gear. If I want to up my damage, I look for +Spell Damage gear or +Shadow Damage gear. +INT might up your chances to crit some, but that's negligible besides the items that are purposely made to do exactly that.
