Leveling a pally, need advice.Follow

#1 May 07 2007 at 5:34 PM Rating: Decent
Hey there, I decided to level a pally for an alt and need help knowing how to play it properly and what spec would be most efficient for leveling it to 70. I heard from alot of players that they are one of the slowest leveler's in the game and are kinda complex to play so that's why I'm here asking. So, can someone please advise me along the holy path of the pally?

PS: I am a blacksmith so I shouldn't have problems trying to gear him up along the way.
PSS: Sorry, I had deleted this because I thought the sticky I saw on the page would answer my questions. . .

Apparently it wasn't the case.

10-35 ret build

35-60 prot build

I myself went with a shock build at 60 and am going strong being 66 at the moment.

Bsmith really wont help you, its a warrior tradeskill, as far as armor goes. It may serve you pretty good till 60, but then instances will far outshine what you can make along with what you actually need. If your willing to drop it by that time go for it, but it just seems a waist for me.

Until you get seal of command your basic fight will be judge seal of the crusader, then use SoR and judge when available.

When command is attainable replace SoR with it.

Try to find a very slow 2 hander for it, and don't forget to pick up your pally quest for your unique 2 hander, it lasted me until 35

Respec to prot, with reckoning maxed out as well as getting the new blessing.

Replace the 2 hander with a shield and one hander in the 1.80-2.20 range. Now you can aoe grind, pull at least 3 mobs, judge SoL and then reseal it, when a mob reached low health change targets repeat and finish them off when they are all low, 90% of fights you will end with almost full health and mana.

Paladins are actually quite fast levlers with these methods, well untill you hit the high 50s range where dps goes out the window and you hit the brick wall. Then you are arguably the slowest leveler there is. But hey, nothing worth it should be easy.

If you need demo builds jsut ask.

Have a gooder.

Hell yah. Took forever to go 50-60. T_T

And I must say my build progression has been the same as Raxen. Retro at first, Prot for the most part of Azeroth and shortly after getting in Outland I went Holy.

Heard many tales of "OMG Elites mobs in Outland cannot be soloed anymore!" and, well, that's not true. At least, with a Holy build, can't say about Prot/Retro. Only quests I've had to group so far are Cruel's Intentions, the few Raging Colossus quests and the dude at the foot of Hellfire Citadel whose name escapes me. I might have been able to do (some of) them solo but didn't risk it and finding a party was easy anyway.

But yeah, Holy is pretty good in Outland as far as I can tell. I have around 375 Spell Damage right now and with my new rank of Holy Shock it crits for around 1-1.1k, SoR crits for a tad less than that and Hammer of Wrath gave me my highest crit so far of 1.6kish. And the guy wasn't even JotC'd so it could've been more.

You might wanna wait until you get a few pieces with +Spell Damage before going Holy, but since they are rather accessible you can respec before stepping through the portal too if you like.
