#1 May 07 2007 at 4:05 PM Rating: Decent
i have a lvl 55 balance druid, and i just seem to get toren apart alot, even in moonkin form, i guess it might be because im doing the wrong spells, or something like that, or it might just be i have to hit 60 before i start to really take down people, but right now im just sucking

anyone got any suggestions for me and what i should do in battle?

You should try to give more details about your current spec, items, armory profile, classes that give you trouble and your actual strategy.

If you run alone into the fray no wonder you get demolished.
If you spam max rank Moonfire on everything you see until you run out of mana no wonder you can't do a thing.

Just be a bit more specific and more people will be able to help you.

As a side note:

First learn how to stay alive, then the killing comes easy.

Heal early and focus on controlling your opponents with NG, roots, feral charge, etc. Even though you have armor in moonkin you still need to keep your distance and choose your battles.

Also, another thing I've noticed in BG is that Balance druids think that spells are there only weapon, but remember you still have your feral forms. If you need to see how many are at mine in AB, then stealth there, don't run in with Battle Chicken and expect to live. If you are taking alot of hits and can't use spells, heal go bear, increase health is nice. So keep in mind that you have them still, you can start a fight with pounce, doesn't necessarily have to be starfire.

Edit: Typos, also remember we druids are the masters of escaping, reset battle if you have to.

sorry, i guess i shouldve told you more info

http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Dethecus&n=Silverbang

this is my armory with all my current gear, and talents, etc.

and the classes i have most trouble with are warriors, and pallys, and to a lesser extent, shammys

warriors, i try and root em before they can get the jump on me, and throw down insect swarm, and moonfire, and if i have the oppertunity to, trents, im usually in moonkin form btw. I then starfire until he breaks out, then i bear form, stun (cant remember the exact ability name) then i go back to normal, drop a healing spell, roots, then repeat, this does well, but they have os much damn health, it takes too long

Pretty much same routine with pallies and shammys, but pallies like to bubble and heal, making it almost impossible to kill em, and shammys always spell lock me with earth shock.

I dont think your battle strategy is very much flawed but everything in PvP from my experience is also a degree of luck. However after looking at your character profile I have a few suggestions (purely suggestions, other people may criticize my opinion if they want to, I'm simply trying to help.)

Firstly, I would rearrange a few talent points you have invested. More specifically I would max out Vengeance and Moonfury and remove the points from Brambles. Though the damage adds up from thorns it doesnt compete with the raw damage output that your DD spells can do, and as a balance druid you want to increase your spell crit% as much as possible (I'm sure you know this already). I would also remove the 1 point from imp. faerie fire to help max out the moonfury and vengeance. Other than that, your spec is basically what I use.

Your gear if possible, I don't know what your budget looks like, but I would try to get some +spell damage gear. Which will also overall help your damage output. I know I'm not saying anything new, but I try to help fellow balance druids. Good luck.

Your gear looks wonderful to me. Only problem is that it says you are specc-ed for feral. Is that true?

Well then thats the source of your problem... If you have Boomkin armor/stats but specc-ed for feral your bound to lose. Cant expect a warrior tank decked out in cloth armor that boosts magic and healing.

when i started this thread i was still all Boomkin but i told my friend to get on and change my spec for me, and he kinda screwed it up.
