do weapon skills affect damage while in bear cat dire bear form at all?

like say you buy a 2H mace skill and leave it at 1 will that make you hit less?

Not in bear or cat form. There is a hidden skill for your claws that feral damage is based on that is automatically maxxed out for your level.

In Moonkin or Tree of Life (or humanoid... trust me you will get stuck there with no mana to shift) you are actually swinging the weapon.

edit: this is now included in the sticky

Problem I tend to find is that I spend so long training in feral that my weapon skill lags behind. Meant that i tried figthing in caster form and half my attacks just missed... Must remember to training how to squish things.

An easy way to lvl weapon skills that I've found is to go to a lowbie area and go on a killing spree. You will make practicly NO Xp and very little Gp or even Sp depending on where you go, but every swing will raise your skill till you get near you lvl.

I've done this a few times and it seems like lits easy to "play catch up" with you weapon skills. That is to say that if you have 1 weapon skill higher than the other it will be easier to lvl all the rest of you weapon skills.

If I am wrong then by all means correct me. Any way enjoy!

I personally like RFC the most. Well, if you're Horde it's a great place.

If you want to go "powerlevel" your weapon skill it's probably because you're at a decent level so you can go beat on RFC mobs all day and heal once in a while.

A good trick if you're really high level is to go to the weapon merchant and buy a white weapon with low damage so that you can beat longer on one mob. You can also take your gear off to lower your power.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and if you're Alliance I suppose VC is the next best thing.

You sure? Just that the Tree doesn't hold any weapons, so I presume it's just hidden then?

I think that all of your non-primary melee forms use your weapon damage and skill rating. I'll have to look this up but I BELIEVE that this is correct.

Well, taken from WoW Wiki:

Quote:
In Moonkin and Tree of Life form the following are true:
-Like the others, Moonkin and Tree of Life forms make the druid immune to Polymorph, and shifting in and out of them will remove moving de-buffs.
-Moonkin Unlike the others, is not considered a beast, therefore, it is immune to any beast crowd control, such as Hibernate. it is , however, Humanoid.
-Tree of Life is considered as Elemental, and can be banished by a Warlock.
-Moonkin can be affected by any ability or spell that can affect Humanoids, except Polymorph (Sap and others will work). Same case with Tree of Life, except it will be vulnerable to Elemental dependent abilities (such as Banish).
-Weapon procs and enchants will proc under any of these two forms.

Regarding that last line, if weapon procs and enchants work for both Moonkin and ToL, it's safe to say that both of these forms use the real weapon skill rather than the hidden Feral combat skill.
