Hello my fellow locks,

Like the subject says I am very close to 70 (pay no attention to the wow reader I have not updated in awhile).

I asked a similiar question before about the ideal build for instances in end game. I would like to see if I get some more feedback. I will begin getting keyed for Khara this weekend and would like to know some good builds and how to play them. It is hard making the transition from affliction.

Also any recomendations on how to control pulling aggro? I always seem to pull aggro from the tank. Maybe a good addon or something of that nature.

Thanks guys

learn to love KLH threat meter, it'll save you many wipes.

i am lvl 66 lock and have the above threat meter and i am Destruction spec. Love when i crit and the meter goes nuts lol but here is the build i recommend for 70. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents.html?0502200000000000000000350000000000000000000505020512200510531151 no imp. searing pain for the obvious reason that if u use it and crit with it...well then ure dead. This is a good PvP ability but worst thing ever for an instance. Imp should generally always be out unless most of the end instance mobs are casters in which case its felhunter, u shouldn't need to worry about crowd control since u shud have a mage or rogue in the group also. Demonic embrace isn't really important and can be easily exchanged for full nether protection and full soul leach in Destruc. other than that i think its good.

Very true, but even with KLH, you have to learn to control Aggro. That might mean changing your style of play.

If you aren't using your imp to buff the entire party, you need to deploy your pet properly. You're Afflic, so it will be a VW. Have the leader mark the target for your VW as an off-tank and send him in.

Your primary DPS target will be the one that the main tank is on. Use your LEAST damaging dots first and build to the biggest. After the primary target is dead, switch to the next in priority. On Boss fights, use white damage only (wand) until the tank has 5 sunders, then you can start dotting it up.

Here's my normal sequence:
Amplify Curse/Send in VW, switch target to primary, CoA, Corr, Siphon Life, Unstable Affliction, Immolate, Life tap, Life Drain. Repeat as necessary. Keep an eye on the threat meter and slow down if it looks like you'll be pulling off the tank.

Check your VW every so often to see if it needs health funnel. The healers should be focussing on the tanks, not your minion. It's always nice when a healer can help your pet, but that's not his priority and you shouldn't count on it. Heal your pet yourself. A dead VW means you have to use another shard after the fight.

I am pretty good when it comes to being affliction spec. My main concern is once I switch what kind of build should I use. I will most likely toy with all of them but I think it would benefit me to see what everyones view is

i think u will have a very hard time adjusting to destruction from affliction has they are just co pletely opposite. I am 7/3/46 build and this is my general attack on a mob, immolate, CoA, Corruption, Shadowfury, Incinerate, Conflagerate, Shadowburn. 9 out of 10 times the mob will die from the incinerate. Here is the build for reference http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents.html?0502000000000000000000300000000000000000000505020512200510531351 People have said soul leech is rubish but i find using life tap it allows me to continue grinding quickly, because i use everything in the soul leech healing list apart from soulfire then i stand i good chance of being healed. Least i have been healed is 132 most is 489. Also for this build use imp, gives u an extra 830 Hp so don't worry if u do get hit since if u do backlash could kick in then the mob is just screwed lol. O and if possible try end all fights using rank 1 drain soul since this gives the best mana return for what it costs the cast, each time i do u get 1069 mana back due to the affliction talents.

Everyone has different opinions about the best build, but personally I suggest Dark Pact and Ruin. You'll get Improved Shadow Bolt, Bane, more crit and more damage on crits. Along with Dark Pact, instant Howl of Terror, Siphon Life and even some extra health from Demonic Embrace if you spend some points in that talent.
