I was wondering how useful it would be having Shadow Power for raids.
For those not familiar, shadow power boosts crit percent for Mind Blast and Shadow Word Death (from now on referred to as just "Death") by 15%.
Previously, I was raiding spec shadow (20/0/41) with all PvE talents like threat reduction, mana conservation talents, and whatnot. Now I've switched to PvP shadow (14/0/47) without any aggro reducing talents or mana efficiency talents. I have noticed my DPS has increased substantially from spamming a MB/Death whenever the cooldowns are up. With Vampiric embrace, a good portion of the damage caused by Death is healed. With mind flay's in between, I'm nearly full health by the time Death is cooled down again.
The problem i'm running into is when creating a PvE shadow build with Shadow Power, there is nowhere to pull the talent points from without sacraficing another important talent. To remedy this, I thought about having only one shadow priest per raid spec shadow weaving, since multiple priests do not grant more than 5 stacks of shadow weaving. This would leave any other priests in the raid free to spend those points on Shadow Power increasing damage.
The only downfall of this setup is that it is EXTREMELY aggro sensetive. As a shadow priest, I notice I pull aggro quite easily, even spec'd PvE, so one would have to keep careful attention to their threat using MB. Does this sound like a good idea to anyone else? I'd appreciate some input, but please, level 70's only. Thanks in advance!
