What types of build to use where?Follow

#1 May 06 2007 at 1:53 PM Rating: Decent
I have been reading the posts on the questions about which build to use in PvE/PvP/Instances, but most of them were not very helpful, so i am hoping some experienced people will respond to this post...

Which build is useful in which situation? I have some experimental build that i have not yet used an i am wondering about which situation they would work in.

Here's one that kindof a mix build, lotta points in the dps department. I am thinking about using it for instances and PvE stuff. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/rogue/talents.html?0053201050000000000000050550100550000000000000500530300300000000000

For the PvP i was thinking that the burst damage would be the way to go, or should i invest into the high dps again? http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/rogue/talents.html?0050200000000000000000050050000000000000000005502001330301213501351

This build is based around burst damage mostly.

For a major dps build i was thinking about going deep into combat (correct me if this is bad) and here's by idea- http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/rogue/talents.html?3053201050000000000000253550100550100003010510000000000000000000000

If someone has any suggestions for the above builds or comments about how to use thenm, please add to this post.

for your first one it is a good general pve and instance build, I'd just recommend that with you leveling, or maybe redo it now that you include imp sap, imp sinister strike, and slice and dice. All are extremely useful in those situations

second one - you can either go full assas. or full sub. for pvp, dpeending on your weapons and stlye. Again imp sinister strike is a good idea - but your basic full sub outline is well rendered.

Full into combat or assas. can give you a very high dps build. Combat is for pve, instance type dps, and assas. is for pvp - excluding the major fact that assas. is 2 daggers and combat can be any weapon at all. Weapon is a very good all-around spec, and I'd actually suggest it for your casual grinding and pve.

Thanks for the advice, it helped out a lot with choosing what build to use. Although i am thinkin that i will probobly doin a lot more pvp now so ill try both sub and assa for a week or 2 each, see wut i like. Thanks again

...that first build is trash, Mutilate can do what you want to do a hell of alot better.

For PvP, you have the Hemo build (which is not what you have), Step-bush, and Mutilate.

For your raiding/PvE build, Riposte should not be included for obvious reasons.

how is this for a high dps rogue? http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/rogue/talents.html?0053201050000000000000050550100550000000000000500530300300000000000#none

i didn't do improved sap because the next patch all rogues automatically get it

Sorry to be blunt but your subtlety build is bad (you miss Initiative which you need, you take Improved Sap which you soon won't need, you take Setup which most people don't recommend, etc...). Also, it's usually not recommended to take more than 41 points in one tree. Finally, your points in the other trees are unwise (you go all the way to 5 points in Precision but don't take Dual Wield Specialisation? In assassination you miss those nice CPs/energy generation skills like Ruthlessness and Relentless Strikes...).

Too much to comment on and it's been said a lot around here, just read the posts and you'll see what I mean.

Replying to ranoroke's post, the build you posted is the same as the one i had.

Replying to Nostraaa's post, thanks for the comments, they really helped a lot, i took the points out of imp. sap and a couple other talents, took out the imp. dodge, and put em into assas. Here is what i was looking at after taking in your suggestion for the new build

and yea, i been reading the other treads, and there is a lot of repition, but what can you do.
The first one by nooblestick and that one was so good, im not sure why i had to post this now...
so just a tip if anyone is reading this for build info, look at nooblesticks tread, its amazing!
