For duelwield iv'e heard i get more damage with a slow mh and a fast offhand for ft/fb and that's the way iv'e been playing. I was wondering if it would be a smart idea to have Two extremely slow weapons and put rb on off hand to maxamize ss damage. Any ideas?

The purpose of the fast OH isn't for the added damage...although I suppose that fb/ft/rb can make it decent. The purpose of the fast offhand is to maximize Shamanistic Rage and get back enough mana to make it worthwhile. With SR, it's all about the number of hits. And since damage from your OH weapon isn't full damage anyway...most people feel that faster is better there.

The fast off hand is also to keep your crits coming and get your Flurry and Unleashed Rage active. more swings = more crits =>less downtime on Flurry and UR

Imo, Shamanistic Rage is not worth the talent point. By the time you kill the mob you want to get mana back you will only receive a small amount of mana. more usefull to put the talent point into Convection. Faster off-hands are used to keep the crits going for max damage and to keep flurry going like Evilgrinn had mentioned.

Ah arite my logic was faster attacks more flametongue hits/frostbrand procs. But would the damage from a slower offhand make up for the less flurry procs?

I don't believe it would. You have to remember that the OH damage is mitigated (to 50%, I think). You simply won't get the big hits with your OH that you will with your MH. Of course, you get less damage from the faster weapons, too, but as Evilgrinn pointed out, there is also the Flurry and UR to consider. I think that alone would make the faster hits more desireable than the bigger hits, in terms of overall damage.

If you only Solo or PvP I completely agree. However if you run regular instances or raids this talent is awesome, In a 10+ minute boss fight you can use this ability 4-5 times and regen half a mana bar or more each time. Even outside of boss fights when you are fighting multiple elite mobs you have more than enough time to get the full benefit of this talent.

If you put enough talent points into resto for the +3% to hit buff you won't have any points for any elemental talents if you have shamanistic rage.

The mana regen from it during PVE encounters is staggering. Something in the realm of 425 a hit, and i get at least 10 in 30 seconds.Thats like half my mana bar!
I seriously would not raid as enhancement without shamanistic rage or natures guidance.

obviously you don't know when to use SR, u can go into a fight with no mana, and at least get up to half mana without down time, plus in a real instance or endgame fight, enhance shamans tend to run out of mana b4 the end of the fight, Shamnistic rage is an awesome way to gather mana back quickly. Plus maybe you dont benefit from it because u have no AP.

Shamanistic Rage lets you keep dealing out the pain. Plain and simple. You just have to know when to fire it off.

In some fights, if I'm just looking to dps the mob as fast as possible, I'll Stormstrike, earthshock, and then fire off SR. I can then keep firing shocks, strikes almost non stop. This works great against high HP mobs. By the end of the fight, I'm back to about 70% mana and I dropped the MOB super fast.

I know this isnt excactly the topic but, how come so many enhancements use dw in raids/instances ? more constant dammage ?

Because there spec is most revolved around Duel Weild. Yes they do have two handed skill spec most likely. But the Duel Weild with a faster off hand just gives more crits and higher dps. It allowa more swings to keep flurry up. It's just the best way to go for Enchancement.

and , imo a very valid point..with a 2-hander you generate huge chunks of aggro, especially when you crit.while dualwielding you have a more constant agro..making it easier for the tank
