So I've read on WoWWiki that if you have (3/3) Survival of the Fittest (talent) you need +154 defense rating to place your defense skill at the magical 415 at level 70, which makes you crit immune to a level 73 NPC. Without the talent you need the same amount of defense skill as a Warrior, which is 490, the equivalent of +330 defense rating.

But how much +hit rating do we need to become "miss immune" to a level 73 NPC? Is that possible at all?

about 8%. you wont be "immune" but the chance will be quite small.

i think it amounts to about 110 hit rating or so.

It's also important to remember that crit resistance, like any damage reduction, has increasing marginal utility (the last 1% (of some original, fixed value) is bigger than the previous 1%), while damage additions, including chance to hit, are of decreasing marginal utility, so it's not worth worrying so much about getting from, say, 98% to 99% chance to hit.

Also remember that +hit isn't as important in bear. If you miss only occaisionally, then the lost threat isn't an issue (the DPS should be waiting anyway). There are a lot of stats more important for bear that will give you more benefit.

In cat however, missing 1 in 20 hits is a 5% reduction in your damage. Think how many stat points/enchants it takes to get that 5%. It also seems to work out in the itemisation. My bear gear has only a little amount of +hit. My kitty gear has quite a lot (without it being high on my priority for stats).

my bad maz, 110 is about 7%. so about 7% to hit, not 8%.
