Growl 1 and 2?Follow

#1 May 04 2007 at 8:18 PM Rating: Decent
I completed the quests in Teldrassil to learn taming, and finished in Darnassus to learn feeding. I traveled to Dun Morogh and successfully tamed Timber (level 11 wolf) as my pet, and have been leveling away happily ever since. However, as I read various threads and guides related to pet training, I see that I should have been able to do a quest for Growl 1 and 2, yet I don't seem to have the option. I've checked Pet Trainers in Ironforge, Stormwind, and have even gone back to the original trainer in Teldrassil, yet the only option for training seems to be Growl 3 (level 20).

Am I missing something, or are Growl 1 and 2 just innate skills that don't show up?

Now they're quested. You may have them already.

If so, shouldn't they show up somewhere, like on my pet skill bar? Or are they considered passive and always in effect? I thought that you could toggle them on and off...

You learn growl 1 from the level 10 quests. Every other rank is learned from a pet trainer, found near any hunter trainer.
You do, however, need to actually teach your pet growl. The skill is under your general tab in the spellbook, it's called "pet training" or something to that effect, looks like a slingshot.

I figured it out.

In the Spellbook window, there's an icon for "Beast Training" as an actual spell/skill. Click it and you open a window that allows you to spend training points in the beast skills you have learned.

My pet just got a hell of a lot tougher...

Thanks for the help :)

Why won't Blizzard add in a quest that shows you how to use Beast Training?

...so many hunters that don't have a clue until like 10-20 (or more) levels later.

Right, and the stinkin button lives in the General Tab, not the Beast Tab.

Dude, I didn't even know about that button until I was level 25 or so. I was really upset when I found out about it, because it's pretty much hidden.
