Moonkin talentsFollow

#1 May 04 2007 at 8:29 AM Rating: Decent
Ok I was wondering if Moonfury or Wrath of Cenarius is better (I am 49 at the moment, so i guess moonfury would be best until alter levels?).

Also I was thinking of getting Natures focus and Subtlety because I think I will heal alot during PvP and 100% not to dispell is good, but with the new barkskin buff I dont think Ill need those, well Subtlety because of threat or raiding and heroics at 70. SO my question is should I get Nature's focus over Naturlist. I will link the build alittle later, I all the wow sites are blocked other then this on school laptop (like all proxies I've seen too).

Thanks

Edit: Typos and OMG I got Scholar!! Cool!!

I was thinking around this

Not sure if that healing would be ok for Pvping/ dps/ and off heal?

At earlier levels, Moonfury is definitely better since you have little to no +Spell Damage. At higher levels, Wrath of Cenarius definitely becomes best. Most people would advice to get both, but I believe (notice the word "believe" since no one has proven this wrong or right yet) that Moonfury applies only on the base spell damage which makes it quite a lot less shining later in game when a good chunk of your damage will come from +Spell Damage.

As for Nature's Focus, remember Barkskin is still on a cooldown, although smaller than before. Still, it means as some times you will not be able to pop it when you need it.

I'm not sure if I would advise getting Nature's Focus over Naturalist, however. Not because of the damage, of course, but because of the shorter HT's.

Once I get to see the whole build I might be able to comment more.

Build looks okay. However, without Naturalist your HT's will take 3.5s to cast which is pretty evil in tight situations. Heck, even on my Pally with 2.0 cast time it's sometimes too tight and my target dies. If you just put Rejuv on anyone and don't bother healing too much then it's alright.

For a bit more serious healing, you might prefer dropping the 2 points in Imp Rejuv and 3 points of Subtlety (unless you *really* have a problem with aggro) to take 5/5 Naturalist. The "prevents dispel" part of Subtlety is semi-useless in PvP because, simply, not a lot of classes can dispel and those who can don't have a huge cooldown, if any so they may just chain-cast it if they really want to remove your heals. (Priest's Dispel Magic and Shammy's Purge have no cooldown)

I'd suggest giving your build a whirl and see how you like it. If you really feel like you could use that 0.5s reduction just respec and see if it's better.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I'll do that, I do grab alot of aggro though, usually I end up tanking, maybe because I'm still low level, but I remeber how I liked 3 sec cast. Thanks, I'll have to try it out and then tweak it until I think it fits perfectly.

If you find you pull aggro a lot, try either of these:

1- Pause between each cast. If you chain cast you're almost guaranteed to pull aggro. Try to experiment with various delays and see what allows you to stay on top of the damage meters while not pulling aggro.

2- Downrank your nukes. If you wanna chain cast, you can probably afford to use smaller nukes. It'll help save some mana and won't leave you with the feeling that you're standing there idle.

I've never really tried those as Balance but I know they work for healing so I'd guess they must work for you too. Luckily, even if you pull aggro from time to time, your armor can soak a few hits.

Sounds good, right now I have out dpsed all classes in my groups (not mage, never been grouped with while balance). I have to chain cast to stay on top, so I'll try to downgrade to rank 3 or stay at 4 and just delay a bit, thanks again.

Didn't know there were delays on account renewals. O_o

But yeah, thanks a lot for testing. I'm too lazy to do it and I don't really have a Druid of appropriate level at the moment. If we could settle this once and for all it'd rawk. :D

I have a couple of +spell damage armor, I cant probably get some from AH, I'll see if I can try this out today or this week for that matter. I'll jsut keep starfiring some lower level mobs and see what happens, anything else to add?
