pally tanks with dps?Follow

After a SL run this was the dps meters

i was tanking and somehow i was #1
what happened?, was it my aoe?

yeah, one rogue was a kitty cat and was #1 in healing...go figure.

first off, prot pallies CAN do some mean dps. i'm Ret and when i group with our guild MT he puts up numbers close to mine(if you've seen my posts, you know i like to toot my own dps horn).

second, your gear is pretty decent and im sure you can play a mean Prot pally.

third, who was on top the rest of the run? its a good idea to post the pic at the end of the run and NOT after a wipe.

i wouldn't blame "bad players" for pally at #1. i would commend the "good pally". /grats

ps. where's your macro for Righteous Defense?

Happens to me alot now I'm prot, I top dps meters, 1 run (I'm level 63) I managed to do 350 dps in ramparts, which came up as 48.9% of the dps done, I prefer DPS over Damage done since it shows how well you've done, not just how well you've done compared to others

Reckoning, Consecrate, Holy Shield, Blessing of Sanctuary, Spamming Judgements, even to some extent even Avengers Shield even add alot to dps and ergo tanking

I found it incredible upgrading from Retribution to Protection, I can solo faster (5-8 mobs aoe compared to 3-4 max), in nuking groups maybe I'm slightly down but the kickass mitigation more than compensates, in long fights I'll do better than retri because I'll be being healed

I can hold Aggro against Blizzard spamming mages easily enough, the run with 3 frost mages, me and a Holy Pally was godly fast :P but I diddn't top damage meters

I have come accross the odd hunter/Warlock/Mage who will beat me, but it's uncommon, I'm sure this'll change at endgame as I'll have to focus more on mitigation than +spell damage

Locks and mages together in heroics are usually a total of about 70% of the dps and im at 10-15%
those heroics r SOOOO hard, 5 tries and we cant down the last boss in ramps
