Well I am lvl 15 Human priest at this time, and I was wondering if I should just break down a buy the wand off of AH, or is there an upcoming quest that will award me one that I can hold out for.
I DO have a little extra $$ because I accepted a duel from a lvl 40-something, and he tossed me a gold peice just for being a sport.

If you take up the enchanting profession then you can make wands.

or your can just talk with some enchanters, some one can will make you a Lesser Magic Wand for free.

Just buy a junk one at the AH to build up the skill. At about 16 you can start hitting VC. After you kill VC make sure to drop down on the far side of the boat and kill Cookie (he's a big pink murloc). He drops a wand which is the first good Blue wand you'll come across.

My first good wand was the Skycaller, requires level 16. Got it at the AH for cheap. Stirring Rod may be better because it's faster, but I never got it.

Buy the lesser magic wand as soon as you can, and the greater magic one at level 13. The greater magic wand is really very nice, and should last for a nice while.
Well I went and dropped 40 silver on a wand`at the AH. Well I went immediatly from there into westfall and finished a quest, turned it in, and guess what the reward was? Thats right a WAND. So haha thats how it goes I guess.
