Hit lvl58 and outlandsFollow

#1 May 02 2007 at 10:13 PM Rating: Decent
Hi guys. Well it finally happened. Lvled to 58 and went straight to outlands. What a wierd and wonderful place. Got my first quest for some leggings and happily went out to complete it.

I then came here to see what other bits of armor and weapons were going to come up. Is it just me or is there a lot more plate armor for pallys than us warriors. I know that the armor is 100 times better that what I got now. So was wondering what the rest of you guys think about it all.

PS my sig has not been updated yet

yeah there is alot of paladin gear in outlands..the stuff ull mainly use are from instances even then silly retribution paladins will roll on tehm becaus ethey think they can dps too, when the piece is actually for tanking... I think its to compensate for the lack of paladin on gear on pre outlands gear form quests and the vice versa for alliance... most paladin gear from quests is centered aorund healing i think its hinting to something...o wait paladin is a healer/semi tanking class not dps...

Yes, There's a lot of Pally Plate out there, and also from my Alliance POV a lot (too much!) Mail. Hellfire Peninsula seems designed to get you from Azeroth Greens and Blues, and some Purples into some more suitable gear. Think of it as a shopping trip.
Dont be too embarrassed about that hideous red pally chestpiece that you're wearing. There'll be greens to replace it and a couple of BoE blues. The first BoP Instance drop to replace it is from Quagmirran in the Slave Pens. But you'll get a new sword, Bracers, Belt, Neck, Rings and Cloak from Ramparts and Blood Furnace.

Congrats.

I just made it over there the other night and I'm about 4 bubs from 60 now. XP gains are so much faster over there that I'll be 62+ by the weekend.

Tried to find a group for Ramparts when someone was spamming for a "tank then gtg". But the guy didn't like that I was fury spec and would only accept a Prot warrior. Then later found a group that had already cleared the first boss and I had no problems tanking for them.

When I was there with my hunter it was at the time when the EP first came out and there were 3,000 people all doing the same quest. It's been a lot easier to get my kill counts or items..etc this time around.

If you can play alot you can hit 62 but the EXP from 60 - 61 is atleast double what you needed to get 59-60.

I hope you can hit your goal but do not be to depressed if you don't hit 62.

Scolariman are you on Gnomeregan server? =) I swear I saw that same spam "tank then gtg" message last night when I was in Hellfire.

I just about peed my pants in happiness doing 4 quests in Hellfire last night, got me from 58.3 to 59 in about 1.5 hours. And the rewards... I don't think I'll have to buy new armor anymore, even if as was mentioned the plate is more pallycentric (with +healing bonus) but still, the +str, +stam, +agil bonuses are sweeeeet.

But that place is a little scary =)

A lot of the plate there sucks as much for paladins as it does for warriors. Since it has +int or +healing on it, doesn't mean like we gain a lot out of it.

And at the very end, all gear sucks for paladins:
- Holy is heavily based on crits, which already is less useful than MP/5 and will be a lot less useful after the patch.
- Prot is, even after the patch, quite oriented on int and spelldamage, lacking in stamina and mitigation.
- Retri still blows.

If you see the tankadins running around in the non-Tier Kara gear over T4/T5, then something's wrong. Same story for healadins.

If you don't get the few warrior drops in Ramparts you should be able to find the Fel Iron Plate items on the AH or get them made with your mats fairly cheap. I put a few of the pieces on last night and it had more +stam & Armor than the few quest reward and world drop green items I was using. Though the "Of the Champion" gear I had on gave me more +Def rating.
