Hit ratingFollow

I have a gnome tank but I suffer from the fact that I have too low hit rating. It happens too often that I miss.

My current hit rating is 21 in my tanking gear, and ofcourse I should improve my gear on this point. However, I got over a mace [Terokk's Nightmace]. This mace does not have any fantastic stats but it has "improved mace skill rating by 19" resulting in that my mace skill increases from 350 to 354.

Now, the questions:
1. Will the increased skill compensate for my low hit rating?
2. What is the relationship between hit rate and skill?

Have a read of:

http://www.wowwiki.com/Formulas:Weapon_Skill

Not sure when last updated but very handy as are the other formulas.

Yes, each skill point in a weapon gives you +0.04% chance to hit.

At 60 you need 2.5 weapon skill rating to get 1 skill point in that weapon. At 70 you need 3.9.
