How Levitate is UsefulFollow

so... levitate has always just been more of a luxary skill, not really useful, unless you accidentally dismount in the air, or jump of a cliff, or some other random situations... it is fun to use every once in awhile, or needing to travel over waters, etc... So far the best use i had with levitate used to just be jumping into un'goro, but recently in Shadowmoon Valley i made the most use of that skill.

The quest that has you go around and kill like 4 different mobs in a suggested party of 5 (sorry i dont remember the quest name). well, when you have to go to the netherwing edge and fight that huge dragon, most people have to fly to the top of the mountain and kite him down. well, i was lazy, and decided to try something... get high enough, even a little bit higher than the height that the dragon pats around, when he gets under you, dismount, DOT him, and spam the levitate button. voila. parachute kite him down :D. i got levitate off a split second before i went splat, we killed him, and completed the quest. it was awesome ;)

I've personally only ever used it in arathi basin for jumping off the cliffs in a pinch, and also for taking mana breaks when killing the underwater mobs in the lakes in zangarmarsh

I use Levitate to get to the back entrance of Karazahn when Horde are camping the front.

But the best use of it... I'm hesitant to mention, due to the fact that it's one of the few really good dirty tricks in my ******** But what the heck.

Mid-air combat.

When an enemy is nearly-dead but uses his flying mount to escape, he's not safe from me. I mount up, fly high above him, dismount in mid-air, SW: Pain, Levitate to safety. It's mean.

Keep in mind that in order to get both spells off you need to be pretty darn high, otherwise you'll hit the ground during the GCD from SW: Pain. It's a situational trick, but a glorious one.

Actually you can do better. Fly much higher than the oponnent. Dismount - ShadowWord:Death -> Levitate -> Shadowword:Pain. Don't use SWD after levitate since the backlash effect on it will intrerupt levitate.
A lot of people w8 on their mounts to cap the world pvp objectives in hellfire - go from above, fly down fast, dismount near them and fear -> VT, SWP , MB+SWD - if they try to fly away use above tactic but chances are they will die from the 4 spell combo especially if MB or SWD crits

That's strangely reminiscent of the Dragon Slaying Technique in "Reign of Fire", the film with Matthew McConaughy and Christian Bale. Awesome Tactic!

you can use it when you fight enemy rogues in water. Was very nice used at the lake around Scholo. A rogue was chasing me in water, and i made him come towards the middle. Then i pop levitate and get away from him and start to pwn him :D He never got to the shore :)

Also at Haala fights. If you get attacked, jump down and use levitate :D This works for any fights that happen near valleys.

Also usable in Maraudon and Steamvault, just because you can and you are cool ;)
