I've been playing for a little while and reading forums all over the place. I've heard about the crazy things Boomkin can do and alll but I've never SEEN one... ever. I know you prolly don't chillin town in moonkin from but as much of a presence as you have even on the forums I would have thought that I'ld have seen or heard of one of you buddies.

Next question: Can Moonkin keep up with Mages and/or Locks in DPS? again I've never seen or played with a balence speced druid so I don't know.

of course balance can out DPS a FROSTIE mage easily if u put out tress and starfire which stops cast buy i dunno most druids are feral...moonkin is awesome and can beat most classes...incuding feral

We can keep up, but not surpass. Unless one of em is brain dead. Mages are b!tchin now, cause warlocks are better range DPS-ers now. Ha so are hunters.

Eh, let me clarify that for you Sloniah.

"Of course balance can out DPS frost mages. Its pretty easy if you summon treants and starfire. Treants disrupt casting time also. I don't know why most druids are feral. Moonkin is a great specc. and IMO can beat most classes. Yes, even feral."

Sounds better? Hope so.

Well he has a point on some thing. In my opinion balance is the best PvP specc. We can beat just about everything except Marks Hunters... We do own feral though =) Not my opinion at all. Thats a fact. Never lost to a feral my level in my life.

I believe many people dont go balance, because theirs no point putting in talent for spellcasting. Which is what druids excell in least. But the mana regain, 4x armor boost, and 1.5x AP boost makes up for the weak spells. oh, pardon me I should say weak. Limited is a better word. Plus we can heal, tank, Melee AND range DPS. Feral really only have access to 3 of the druids four roles. Being balance we can excell at everything we do.

Thank you Setai. I'm thinking that at 70 I'll respec to each of the differant trees just to try them out. I enjoy casting TO A POINT. It's not really my forte but for a BG weekend I'll prolly have fun :)

I've only seen two Balance Druids on my server, one of which is myself. I've heard of there being one on the Horde side as well, but I've never actually seen him. All of this is fine by me, I love being unique.

I can almost keep up with my Fire Mage friend's burninating if I go all out, but I go OOM so much quicker than him if I do so that I would absolutely die without his water. I miss his water anyways whenever I'm not grouping with him, but... I digress.

I love my Balance Druid as much as the next guy, but... We can tank? When did this happen? Our melee is not exactly a shining beacon of hope either... it's really just there to help generate some more mana.

I think you've hit the nail on the head here.

Each of the Druids trees is great in its own right, and if you go all out you can be very good at what you do. However, at the end of the day you should also enjoy the class.

I've spec'd Balance, and spent a small fortune in gold and time getting good gear so I can really see the effects, I didn't really enjoy it as much as I do getting up close and personal. I still have the gear though, so when I really need to be a caster, I can still trot out 1K wraths if I have to ;)

Try 'em all out. You never know, you could fall in love with the big bird and never look back. Or maybe the running around as a tree will become the light of your life.

Enjoy! ;)

hmm my druid is 48 resto spec atm

Plan on going Balance (just enough for moonkin) and rest in resto at 70.

The combined effect i think will be fun, as well as offer any groups im in a decent support member.

ps. im a casting oriented player anyway

Hey YA!!!! /waves

I have about 20 Boomkins on my server, and they are ALL in my guild :DDD

We and the other druids do a monthly raid togeather! Its awsome!

I could beat a mage at about 55% of the time. Its awsome when we resist their polymorphs! Any warrior just gets out! I regulary duel lvl 50+ warrior by rooting and nuking! Best tactic there is!

Haha I didnt mean in Boomkin! Well actually I've seen it been done, but its a hassle. Alot of drinking. I'm just saying with Str. and Agi. gear I can tank and melee DPS quite well. On the other hand a feral sucks at range DPS no matter what they're wearing. Plus IMO balance has better healin.

Yep. I never thought I'd like the holy tree on my paladin. But its great. Frustrates enemies so much. Love it =D

My awnser is NO, a Big fat no, but a lock or mage cannot offheal, or keep a Rediclous ammount of armor on.... even a ballance spec Druid should know that they are not exclusivly a source of dps, that the key to their success is versility.

I noticed we has a few yes awnsers to this, but It would seem that those posters are looking at a VERRRY small timeframe. Sure for 20-30 seconds I can keep up with a mage on a single target, or a lock, but at a given point in time I will Be OOM and the mage/lock is still casting

I fully disagree. We can dish out tremendous DPS. Like I said not as much as a lock or mage, but still great. We DO have great DPS. But we CANT surpass a mage or lock.

For boomkins I recommend you go to www.warcraftmovies.com and check some of the videos.

I have seen some 3900 crits in this video http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=39088

Dyani Panzerkin PvP 1 :) But balance is very gear dependent.. compared to feral and resto (well resto is collecting +healing)

In the video you can also see the playstyle. Basically you stand at max range and spam 2-3 spells. It is very "time consuming" in terms that you need to stand still 3.5 seconds or 2 seconds for casting. In BG this may seem like forever. The damage was pretty sick tough.

OMG LASORZ!!!
