Good god man, what is the deal with your gear? I would say that 306 AP would be a partial explaination of your low Eviscerates. You definately need gear upgrades in every department save the legs and belt maybe.

You don't want anything with intellect on it, as it does nothing for you(all it does is increase mana and spell crit, so it does nothing for rogues). Normally, you don't want anything that is 7 or 8 lvl requirements under your current lvl(up to lvl 60...then its less than that).

You should be at least at least 400ish AP more like in the 500ish. Twinked out at 49, I've got 595 AP, and 2/3 Imp Eviscerate(my rank evis is one higher than yours), and my Eviscerates HIT for in the 600's.

Doesnt matter what his AP is. Tooltip Evis on a naked target should be pretty damn accurate.

As read from wowwiki:
Modifier = Attack Power * (Number of Combo Points used * 0.03)
Eviscerate = (Base Damage Minimum + Modifier) - (Base Damage Maximum + Modifier)
Critical Eviscerate = Eviscerate Damage Range * 2

So, w/o armor reduction, his 5 point Eviscerate should be hitting for 477 - 526. Factoring in 30% armor reduction, it goes down to 334 - 379.

I find it hard to believe that your damage doesn't change that much from plate to cloth.

Are you sure you have Rank 6 Evis? B/c it looks more like Rank 5 numbers.

@Kturner

You're right. Even though AP is factored into the Evis equation, it really doesn't have as much impact as I thought it did. Replacing his AP(306) for my AP(595), its only a 45 damage difference.

No thats not my point. Tooltip Damage for Evis takes into account your AP. So if the tooltip says hes supposed to do 400 damage, he should do 400 damage unmitigated. Upping his AP will only increase what Evis does, which is reflected in the tooltip.

I'm seeing the same exact problem on my rogue (about half the damage expected, as reported on the tooltip).

I see this with evis, not sure if I've seen this with sinister strike.

I have noticed a big drop in damage when switching from a subtlety build to a assassination build, which I didn't expect. I'm a level 49 undead rogue.

Ummm...what else do I need to say other than you're right...lol.

Could be a number of things: opponent's defense level, opponent's armor, resilience, etc.

1664 is the highest crit (nonmitigated) i can get out of that armory link.

2*[652+(AP*.15)]*1.15

That's around what I was thinking.

Yeeeeah...I'm a 49 twink, and with the berserker buff in WSG and buffed to 800ish AP, the highest 5pt CB Evis I've gotten was 1540.

I brought this up a number of weeks/months ago. To me, the tooltip information is useless if the numbers it posts do not reflect the actual damage you do. Like other people have said, I still cannot reach that 5 CB point damage range on a normal non-crit evis. So why does the tooltip say it's so high?

well the guy had hemo on him i don't know if that makes much a diff :\

That is roughly 30% armor mitigation, which probably isn't too far off. What lvl mobs are you fighting?
