Hey all! I was chatting to my brother and he said something very interesting about WoW. Apparently, there will be a new expansion to be released soon(ish). This is only a rumour though, and has been nick-name "Northrend". It will include the Scourge in the Northern icy continent of Northrend above Klamidor and The Eastern Kingdoms, and the possibility of a new level cap of 90 (!!!!!!!!) I want to state that THIS IS A RUMOUR!!!!!
I have posted this thread to increase awareness of this possibility and to state the possible outcomes of what will happen if it is true:
1. Level Cap will be raised to 90
2. The ability to master 2 Talent trees fully.
3. A whole new continent in Azeroth!
4. The possibility of a higher level zone than Outlands.
The only proof that I have found on this matter is of; 1) When you zoom out in the world map to include Outlands then you can see an icy Continent which is so far impossible to get to. 2) A mention on the Wikipedia page about WoW and Arthas.
This means that a Druid specced to Balance with Moonkin before it came out, could master the Balance AND Restoration trees after it came out. This would mean that the druid would have Moonkin AND The Tree of Life.
This thread has only been posted as A RUMOUR. I cannot state this enough. I want to know your feelings on a new expansion like this, and if anyone has heard anything like it.

This isn't friday. Its not true though.
For instance, blizz hasn't even finished doing the BC content yet. A level jump to 90 would add so many imbalances that would need fixing. Not to mention tier 6 gear for level 70s is just being realized.

paragraphs saying:
"Northrend is not currently accessible in World of Warcraft. It is possible (like many other things, too), however, that the continent may be seen in a future expansion pack, as it is visible in the World Map when zoomed out all the way.
But lately there was discovered some model files that came with the 2.1 Public Test Realm in the WoW Model Viewer. They were in the folder EXPANSION02 which can be found in the main MPQ file in your World of Warcraft directory. The subfolder is called Howling Fjord which is a zone located in Northrend."

First of all, i just wanted to say that you're an @$$hole. you spammed the WHOLE of the forum with your weapon thingy post. Secondly, U CANT MASTER 2 TALENT TREES! If the level cap is increased, more talents will be put up, so u cant master fully 2 talent trees. 3rd of all, we ALL heard of Northrend before, so it ain't much new news. Emerald Dream is after Northrend so you're kinda slow. Don't bother posting these things again coz you don't have much inside information, let those who have it post. And have you noticed how WoWwiki says SO many things are rumors? The word rumored is so commonly used in WoWwiki that you should not pay much attention to them. They also say that the Demon Hunter class and Beastmaster class is coming out on Northrend, this is another rumor stated by them... They hardly finished with BC yet and with the 2 new races, what makes you think that they can create another 2 classes, it'll cause too much chaos inside Blizzard. And btw, DONT SPAM AGAIN!

Dear ******* god! I only wanted to Know what people would think if you COULD master 2 trees. I only used Northrend as an example! I just wanted to know what types of speccs people would use if they could use 2 trees and if this would lead to any indiscrepencies!

Not an a$shole, but he's just OT here. We're used to these kinda of posts in Alliance/Horde forums and the Main page. But not class forums.
Northrend is possible. So is the Emerald Nightmare (as it has come to be called). So is the Maelstrom. So are additional planets/areas off of Outlands, as the devs have said that the idea of Dark Portals has given them basically endless possibilities (and, as I said, endless possibilities to further butcher the lore).
Could it happen? Sure... but considering that people have been debating what will be unleashed since before TBC was ever even announced, there seems to be no reason to post about it.
Personally, I feel like Northrend will not be the next patch; Arthas/Lich King is the single most powerful entity in Azeroth (except Elune, but she's more of a force than an entity). Remember, he took out Illidan within seconds; and Illidan has not even been released in content yet (except, I suppose, the PTR), and I'm sure he's tough.
Much better to go through Azshara and free Ysera before we take on the most powerful guy.

I dismiss that entirely. 80 would be so much more plausible.
As mentioned, new talents would be added so I don't believe in mastering two trees.
Yes, it could be Northrend, but like Locke said, it'd be better to explore other areas like Emerald Dream/Nightmare, before we tackle on the Lich King. (I'm sure in that same expansion we'll see level cap raised to 100)

And BTW Northrend is "old new", as in, if you've played WC3 you'd know about it. It's part of the Lore and it's always been there. Just like the Blasted Lands existed before BC and the Dark Portal came by. There was just no way to go through it. Just like if you check the Azeroth map you'll see those islands near the middle of the sea. We could go there too, but no, not yet, if ever.

I know for a fact that at least one of them is a GM island. You used to be able to get there by swiming out, dying of fatigue, running back to your corpse and swimming again. They fixed it in a patch a while ago.

ok... before northrend there will probably be the emerald dream, the maelstrom, then northrend, then possible the dreanei homeworld which would be like the base of opperation for the burning legion, depending on how they work the lore of warcraft there might be some other places before & after.
