Well for your first question, nah not hard playing in restoration, just not many dps. Since I always been in restoration, except lately to try other tree for fun, well one thing for sure I was glad to go back to restoration, was fun but I am too used to play that way!

For elemental, I say go with skills that give you more critical, go with gear with lot of int and sta.

I'll add to this. Currently I have a lvl 26 Shaman. I did my talents all wrong at first so I just payed to reset them. I guess my question is similar to the OP. Will it be hard for me to lvl if I go with resto? I get a lot of healing invites and think it might be beneficial for that reason, but will it be too dificult to solo quests and whatnot when not in a group? Also, what would be the basic strategy while grinding?

One last thing, how would resto spec be for PVP?

omg dude go resto it is so good. you dont hit as hard but you survive like a fiend, natures swiftness is so nice and you will get into paries easier. plus if played right they are evil in pvp. trust me i tryed all the trees dont waist your money. enchancement is great but any warrior or druid can tank better and deal more damage. and elemental is also awesome if you want big crits and elemental shamans have the highest dps before you run out of mana. and we run out of mana fast. so go resto it has higher survivability better healing and an instant cast every 3 min (natures swiftness)

resto FTW!

(but really thats just me pick what ever you want)

and to respond to ZanatosFox resto shamans are good in pvp but dont deal huge crits but are hard to kill. and while soloing quests i find it easier to solo them cuz i can heal myself for so much and get back to fighting. o ya also i found that when i was specced elemental and the same for enchancement is when i got into groups i got in because of my healing.

and ive heard of resto shamans out healing holy priests ;)

thanx natureschild, i was tryin to decide. I was kinda uncertain about how soloing would be harder as resto. I think i might wait till 50ish though. pretty broke now :\

Hows this?

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/shaman/talents.html?5002310000000000000050000000000000000000005035051050310515321

I was also wondering how i should gear up? I have 90% enhancment gear right now. To make up for the lack of +int and +healing mail at my level should i wear cloth? Alot of it seems pretty ownage when it comes to those stats.

1. nice build i like it

2. dont trade mail for cloth unless the pluses are awesome
part of what makes resto shamans great is that we are healers that can survive for a long time in a fight cuz of our defence and earth shield ftw!

is the talent Tidal Mastery any good? like, is that extra 5% on healing crits worth it?

I have a lvl 17 shaman right now. I have not put any points into my build yet. I am considering specing resto while lvling so I can be a healer for instances. I will also need to do the standard solo questing. I am thinking of putting my points toward this build

Is this a good solid resto build?

Thanks

Take the 3 out of Nature's Guidance and put them in Healing way, then the 5 out of purification and into Natures guardian. 4 out of totemic focus and into imp riencarnation(unless your'e like me and never stock up on ankh) i could go on but heres how i'd put it.

Im not gonna begin telling people how to spec, personally resto is a great spec, and I agree with all of you with that.

After leveling my character to the level im at, I look back and realize that from 35-51 was easily the hardest levels i have EVER had. Resto from day one, It just doesnt cut the cake for soloing.

Sure a resto shaman is awesome once you get earth sheild, but before that I dont recommend the switch. Your DPS is just so low its terribly hard to kill mobs and keep up. I would stick with whatever your using now, until your able to get earth shield then respec.

Unless you healing groups full-time, then its worth the switch now.
