A quick progress check on healing gear mid-50?Follow

I'm currently in my early-50ies with a prot build (how original) and a mix-in of 16 points in ret atm. I plan to stick to prot at least to 60 and perhaps beyond (depends on what 2.1 final really brings), and have had no issues tanking 5-men so far.

I am quite keen to revisit a couple of the key pre-Outlands instances on the pallie, though, and the one single group a night doing BRD isn't necessarily always short a tank, but often a healer.

Does anyone here remember roughly at what stat level you have been pre-TBC for main healing the BRD / BRS and Strat runs? As a reference at level 52 I'm currently around 2200 mana which feels a tad shallow. I started trolling the AH for some +int and + healing kit last night, but I don't have a true feeling of how much will do the trick.

I mainhealed through the first two bosses on a ZF run last week at level 49 with also 2200ish including Arcane intellect (with a pretend holy pallie who used a 2H, didn't feel like healing and playing like a Ret tank, minus the skill), potting twice and nearly ending up totally dry on Antu'Sul. I'm quite certain I wouldn't have been able to heal through stairs though.

So what kind of bonuses should I start gathering to be comfy in BRD?

I think you should be able to hit near 4k MP. When i was that level i had cloth and leather and mail for my healer kit with lots of int.

If you get aggro, yeah your are softer (be sure to still use a shield), but I would just pop conc aura and heal myself through it. And there's always bubble and BoP.

I don't have any numbers by memory but my "healing set" so far consists of any +Int, +Spi and +Healing gear I find either through quests or lucky drops or whatnot. I've never bought anything.

I don't even look if it's cloth, leather, mail or plate. As long as it has good +Int and +Healing mostly, I'll take it. I keep the set in the bank so whenever I find another item that would be suited for the set, I'll keep it until I can compare it with the other one in the bank.

I think my current healing set gives me slightly more than 3k mana at 50, and since I only recently started gathering the pieces I don't have a healing piece for every slot. So with a full set, I wouldn't be surprised if you had around 4k like KT said.

Belated feedback: Finally got my BRD run last night, though I'm level 57 now and finding stuff a lot easier:-)

With healing gear and diverting 13 points into holy for the time being we had one wipe due to massive overlinking (golem lord area, how predictable), the rest was easy as pie. My healing kit now boosts me up to 4900 mana and 120 + healing, pre Outlands gear. I probably pushed it a bit too far though, as I found myself a tad too squishy for my liking when the tank forgot to pick up all the adds.

So a belated thanks for the sanity check, it worked out just fine.

Glad to see you did alright. My quick advice is that if you are looking for some quick greens to up your healing capacity pre-outland look for some plate "of the owl" gear.
