Patch notes say, dive and dash-skills are live. Since as an european player i have to wait till Friday for the new patch.

Does every Pet have on of the new skills when tamed or i am forced to kick one of my 3 pets to get it?

I just recently got Bite 8 and was happy that i can finally tame myself a pvp-pet. I got a purple/blueish lvl 59 frostsaber (no clue how the full name translates into english) from Winterspring.

Now please don't tell me i am getting shafted if i want those 2 new petskills. Are they even worth it?

most likely, you have to buy it at the pet trainer ( the place where you have to buy gowl 2-6 ) for a reasonable fee, then train it to your pet.

i haven't seen any wide mobs that has increase of running speed over a period of 30 sec. getting it from the wide pets? i don't think so.

Servers will be down this morning for maintance, so we'll have to wait till this afternoon :)

Looks like Dive is for flying pets, dash for others.

Looks to me like more crap for hunters.

Throw em a bone, they never get anything good, they will dance in the streets over this.

What we need is to be able to train pets to have special abilities inheriant to the pet type. We also need melee weapons and mail specific to hunters only, throught the 50+ levels so were actually allowed to attempt to improve our equipment during raids and instances.

Another thing we need to be able to do is set our pets to guard another party member, not just ourselves. This would make our pet much more useful late in games. Priests and mages would love us.

Seen list somewhere listing where they were learned. To get them, hunters had to tame certain animals, so it works just like bite/claw/cower/growl.

Going from memory, think Owls in Winterspring had Dive 3, and Frostsabers in Winterspring had Dash 3.

Think Dash 2 was from Feralas' Longtooth Runners.

Believe Dash 1 or Dive 1 was missing/not found and think Dive 2 was missing. This is going off memory so could be wrong. Going to try Longtooth's, Frostsaber's, Winterspring Owls when me can.

I hope that Rak'shiri has one of those 2, because i just tamed him :) If not, well then the only pet i could release is my scorpid from the shimmering flats. Although i leveled him to 58 atm, i could exchange him for a black/red skorpion like the ones in LBRS.

The third pet i have is Snarler, lvl 54 atm. I won't release him, took me 5 h of camping to get him and i like black wolfs :)

Rak'shiri did not have it for me. Had her tamed too.

Tamed white Frostsaber Huntress, and she had Dash 3. Just send it out after something very far away, bring back. Repeat this few times and you will learn Dash 3.

EDIT: Forgot to add 'Huntress'

For those who have acquired these abilities. What is the difference between them? The patch notes say the same thing about both.

Rumor is saying that only Cat and Dogs(wolves too) can learn Dash. Did not try to teach Dash to my turtle yet. Was happy to see elder nightsaber racing around. Then was invited to huge guild pvp event that was happening at Barrens Crossroads.

Going from memory, Dash 3 is 80% run speed boost for 15 seconds. 30 second cool down. 24-ish talent points to train. Can not remember how much focus to use it. And can not remember level requirement. Sorry.

At first pet, did not use it at all. Tried moving it down to Pet Action Bar and that did not help. Then opened Ability Book, Pet Tab, targetted Winterspring Owl, Clicked Dash and Attack, and Snuggles zoomed off ! After that, dash seemed to work fine.

Is dash an ability we'll have to manage or can we just auto our pets to use it as needed? Is it similar to what we do with Growl and the rest?
#16 Apr 20 2005 at 11:17 AM Rating: Decent
Any idea if Bangalash has it?
#17 Apr 21 2005 at 7:36 AM Rating: Decent
No idea if Bang have it. You would need to open Ability Book, click pet tab. If pet have it, it will be listed their.

Having issues with Dash. If you leave it in ability Book, it will auto fire every time it can, even in fights where pet is not moving. Hear this last night in Scholo and Strat.

To resolve this issues, me moved Bite off pet bar because me always leave it on, and placed Dash on pet bar. Then, made this macro

/script PetAttack()
/script CastPetAction(#)

# being number of Dash along pet bar from left to right.

Now, pet attack macro with Dash works perfect.

I tamed a lvl 58 frostsaber huntress and got dash 3. On the new pet the icon show on the pet action bar and it auto casts everytime I hit attack. No training points yet so no as to how well it works with growl etc. Also the new pet's action bar has an extra space.

Trained my old pet and couldn't drop dash into it's action bar, tried everything I could think of and it just wouldn't go. I submitted a GM ticket and went off to do a little PvP. Fist time I send in the old pet, low and behold he autocasts dash like it's a passive ability.

Made for kind of a strange conversation with the GM.

GM: "Hello this is GM so-and-so how may I help you?"

ME: "uhh, it kinda fixed itself.........."

Just wondering if anyone else has the same experience?

Dash 1 can be found on a tiger in stranglthorn named Sin'Dall lvl 37 good lluck just got her yesterday
#20 May 01 2005 at 3:24 AM Rating: Decent
Well, oddly enough, Dash stopped working like a passive ability, it even stopped working for me as an auto-cast from the pet bar. So inspired by Goldenleaf's example I made a macro of my own...

/script CastSpell(#, "Pet")
/script PetAttack()

This time # is the location of Dash in the pet tab of you spellbook, counting down from the top. So, this way you can have Growl, Claw, Bite and Cower on the pet bar and still use Dash.

Enjoy!
