I used pugs to find quality people and then used the quality people to have good runs. No accidental stumbling.

That's why LFG ruined the game for me.

Huh, game sizes can be funny things.

Mass Effect is 10.32 GB.
ME2 is 11.57 GB.
ME3 is 9.95 GB.

Dragon Age: Ultimate Edition (all the DLC and the expansion) - 26.99 GB

Skyrim? 6.8 GB.

What?

A lot of a game's size comes from textures. Skyrim was designed with console limitations in mind, so the textures are fairly low rez. It usually looks good though, because of a lot of little details (like a lot of animated grass or some such).

If Skyrim was designed for the PC only, it would be MUCH bigger.

I'll have to start looking into addons for it...

Well, now I know what I'm doing tomorrow when I'm bitter procrastinating at work.

I'll also need to port my DAO addons over. Except that I can grab some high texture packs I never used before...

I was handed a 58 page document and told to proof it so it could go to the printer today.

I have a ton of sh*t to do (as in, other priority projects I was just given that need to be done ASAP), and this document is a @#%^ing mess.

Later, another coworker (the one who SHOULD have given this document a while ago) walks in and asks if I'm on track for a 1 pm deadline.

I wasn't even told there WAS a 1 pm deadline, and she asked that around 12:15.

I told her she could get it by 3 if she was lucky. Meanwhile my other projects are just ending up in a worse state (because they're growing with the time I'm not spending on them), and I'm already scheduled for a 13 hour shift tomorrow.

And I just found out that I can't work from home from Friday (as is typical), and that it's JUST going to be me and my boss here. The one who gives me panic attacks.

I'm just going to kill myself instead.

You should go to law school and then you can get paid for this crap. And get to deal with it every day.

I think skyrim also has a lot of procedurally generated stuff, so it can have a lot of detail using small components. Something like that.

But you also get to bill people for spending a few minutes reading their email and charge a couple hundred dollars an hour. Makes that **** a lot more bearable.

While I do like arguing, the only areas of law I'm interested in don't pay particularly well.

Also, I just ate my weight in carbs. Oops.

Awwww, that's no fun. Smiley: frown I didn't feel like starting work yet, so I tried to load up Hearthstone.

Well, you can only be logged in on one pc at a time. Which is a great security protocol... but I have my new rig downloading the WoW, SC2, and D3 starter editions. Smiley: frown

They should give you a choice when you try to log into your account from a second place, cancel the log in or log out the other login.

I think, if I didn't have a download going, it would have automatically logged me out.

Spotify does do that, although that's not really much of an issue except that my PC goes to sleep after a while when I use spotify on my phone.

Diablo 3 has gotten so much better, but holy **** is the game full of broken promises. No PvP, One With Everything never got reworked, Crushing Blow was never reintroduced after they said they'd rework it.

It's come leaps and bounds, but the devs still haven't delivered on a lot of things.

Given that Gaige has 2 skills that make bullets bounce towards enemies it's actually good for those who can't aim since, well, it auto aims half the time. Also the damage is insane and it works for any gun (although it's pretty useless with snipers and rocket launchers).

My biggest issue with the game remains the fact that building really isn't a thing. When I was playing, I felt both constrained and utterly non-unique.

I get what they're going for, and I completely get that there are plenty of people who like it, but I think the "Everyone has access to every skill" thing is really, really uninteresting. But with the armor/weapon restrictions on top of that, with complete stat simplification? Do not like.

I get what they were going for, I do. And I get that there are plenty of people it works for. But it doesn't for me.

MAYBE I could have been on board if they had a system more like Elder Scrolls Online, where you have complete access to your class abilities, but then you have complete freedom with weapons/armor, each of which have real differences. That at least creates the potential for a huge range of diversity to help mitigate the fact that everyone is essentially the same.

I know the new item options have made this slightly better, but it's not enough to really impact my critique.

Oi, lolgaxe, turns out you can get a sandwich from Momoun's with both Shawarma and Chicken Kabobs in it.

If you want your heart to give out by the time you're 40, I can think of fewer better ways.
