I'm not sure there's much work out there that's more fun than beer, and those jobs are probably hard to get anyway.
Peptides are chunks of proteins. Proteins are too big for us to work with, so we chop them up into little bits (peptides) first, then try and put the pieces back together later. It's like taking apart all your furniture so you can fit it out your door to move to a new place. Then trying to reassemble it all once you get there. It never works as well as it should, and you always loose something and break something else, but by some miracle you have enough complete furniture to call the new place home.
