I wouldn't say better overall, but that is a ton of armor.
The main thing probably is that you can get this at level 60 and use it until level 70.

Bump, because I'd still like to hear Quor's take on my question...

make sure you have the jerkin of untamed spirit from the hellfire quest (i forget which one). its the best tanking piece pre-tier 4 in outlands.

trying to snag some clefthoof armor pieces is a good idea too, as theyre loaded with armor, stam, and def.

I guess that means: Get Clefthoof if you can, otherwise stick with the JoUS until T4. T4 is such hotness.

It isn't. Its a great tanking piece until you get your heavy clefthoof, end of story. That said you also don't currently need heavy clefthoof (until the patch, at which point there's no reason to wear anything else), because honestly as a tanking druid once you hit 415 defense its time to ditch defense and go all agility and/or stamina.

Okey, thanks.

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't smoking something goofy...always seemed to understand that the clefthoof chest was the better option once you get up to it.

I just got my JotUS myself, and I intend to enjoy it for a long time <3.

Up until this patch, I have had the clefthoof vest in my inventory, but have been wearing the Jerkin of the Untamed Spirit. I already have my crit immunity and felt that the drop in armor I would take by switching to the vest was too much. I had already dropped a few thousand by dropping my Ash Tempered Legguards and Supple Leather Boots for the other 2 pieces of the Heavy Clefthoof.

After the patch however, Heavy Clefthoof all the way :)

id keep the jerkin for soloing or pvp tho. def doesnt do jack **** in pvp (you want resil in that case) and the spirit on the jerkin makes it ideal for a druid whos in feral forms (i.e. not casting). pop out, heal a bit, back into feral, and have full mana that much sooner.
