Ermac?

Actually, the clothing is the black set you get by murdering Yuria. Only the hat is the witch set. Smiley: grin

I'm playing around with the flame witch set for the Nameless King, though I'll probably go back to the black set/hat after that.

Finished the game. No idea who or what Ermac is, unless that's a name for Soul of Cinder(Gwyn, Chosen Undead, Bearer of the Curse, Solaire) whose joke I'm not getting.

No major trouble with the Princes, but Nameless King was brutal. By comparison, the final boss wasn't much of anything, really.

Last two:

Final Boss and ending:

Which was the one where they first introduced the robot ninjas? That was the last one I played.

That looks pretty neat. Glad I didn't wrap my game over into a NG+ yet.

Did start a new character(my Sorcerer, Corvyn). Sorcery sucks on Crystal Sage, fyi. Even after grabbing the scrolls from the swamp for some more power. Was getting frustrated to the point of considering level grinding out some points in Vigor so I could survive trading with him.

And then I remembered those OP Demon's Souls strats.

Never knew that poison lasted so long with that bird staff. Also I find it funny that there is a Magic Def shield after you fight the magic based boss.

You can get the dark hand before that if you want, though. That's only 2 MDef behind the Crest shield. You can also get twisted wall of light, which might be hilarious and was my plan B for that fight.

It's strange how late it is before you get Soul Spear compared to when you get Chaos Fire Orb. Argh.

Oh well, I have it now, and am finally doing similar damage to my pyro.

So my roommate is doing his first(well, second, he gave up on the first pretty early) run-through, in which he has decided that he's getting his Vigor up to 99 before he does anything else, now that he has the stats to wield a Raw Astora Sword.

To make things hilarious, he had missed 3 bone shards, so he was in the Catacombs with his flasks taking 6-7 to heal from low to full. Smiley: laugh

No! You smack him and tell him No! Vigor caps at 60, 99 is a waste of levels in NG.

I tried. He isn't having it. I tried convincing him to at least go Vit for a while to get the static defense increases(and get him out of fat rolling while wearing Havel's ring), but not even that would fly.

And honestly, Vigor Softcaps at 26 and 40(after 26, HP goes up slower, but you start getting heavy increases to frostbite resist til 40; 27 gets you a round 1k hp, iirc). But it's his character to ***** up. Not my place to say much.

Speaking of things that are making me lose faith in humanity...anyone here ever try sunbroing Yhorm? I did six runs yesterday. In four of them, it was at least three of us, and I was the only one with a Storm Ruler. In one, only me and the other sunbro had one. The other, there were four of us all using them. It was kinda hilarious. Wish I'd remembered to record it.

Also, I'm thinking of rolling my next character as something of a tribute to Shalltear Bloodfallen, the Bloody Valkyrie of Nazarick. Thinking something like 27vig, 24att, 30end, 15vit, 18str/dex, 15 int/fth, 40lck. Then I'd wield Hollow Warden Twinblades and use either Carthus Rouge(PvP or bosses) or Blessed Weapon, both pontiff eye rings, fire witch's set(diff helm). Situationally: Power within, regeneration, tears of denial and hidden body. Apparently with the twinblades and the rouge, you proc bleed ridiculously quickly. Think it would be interesting for bosses, and might even do some invading.

Shalltear's weapon was a lance, wasn't it? It's too bad the Executioner's Chariot Lance doesn't exist anymore, maybe you can use Arstor's Spear from the tree for the HP recovery or the Great Lance or Drang Twinspears for Bleed.

Arstors is an interesting thought. But I want to make things bleed like she did in the earlier arc. And I'm adoring the speed of the bleed proc on that weapon with the rouge. Smiley: grin

It'll be a loose homage.

Playthroughs 2/3 done. Finally got the hang of miracles. Apparently they don't want you ranging anything. Right on something's *** and use the talisman L2. Sorcerer had no trouble with last two bosses, though I got lazy and Hidden Bodied past the non-boss wyvern.

Starting my blood build tonight.

Blood build is hilarious in PvP. You can actually tell the moment when the opponent craps their pants. It usually happens right after they eat just one combo and bleed and are suddenly below half health.

It's unfortunate that I suck at PvP. Still, moderate success. Working on getting Anri's sword for PvE stuff, as these damn sword hit like wet noodles against anything unbleedable. Was doing about 1k damage against Pontiff with every single L2/R2/L1 combo, which was always followed by backing out to regain stamina.

Considering doing a Quality Astora Greatsword build themed after the holy dragon knight "Touch Me" and playing as a Blue Sentinel/Darkmoon next.

If you see me on some morning or in the wee hours, hit me up. I'm down.

Also, I'm thinking I'm gonna plat this game, making it my third Plat. Probably use my pyromancer since I've been thinking of finding an excuse to use the Crystal Chime to give her some sick versatility against bosses where Magic or Lightning are better than Fire and Dark. Looking at the requirements, it's really not like it'd be hard. Just need to make it to NG++ and farm up a couple covenants.

I know some souls fans hated it but I actually enjoyed it enough to play twice. Some builds work ridiculously better than others such as 2 handed weapon jump attacking but once you get over the speed differences the combat system is not too bad. It can be frustrating in places but you can get some strong weapons early if you know the trick and that helps smooth out what is otherwise a somewhat uneven difficulty curve.

*In other news I am playing Fall Out 4 again (500+ hours now) since Nuka World DLC came out.I should stop buying new games for a while I am just replaying the stuff I like over and over these days while my library collects dust.

Today we learned that you can boost covenant items for Fingers, Purps and Sunbros. Everything else you have to either farm or get the old fashioned way.

Farmed up about half of my Wolf Grass. Not too bad a farm. Dreading farming ears.
