Level 12 is a long way out Dig. But you actually unlock them as early as 10 or so when you get to a certain point in the main story. (Skyhold)

Cas - Templar
Varrick -Artificer (Traps)
Solas - Rift Mage
Vivienne - Knight Enchanter
Iron Bull - Reaver?
Blackwall - Champion
Sera - I forget beyond nutcase
Dorian - I dunno
Cole - I dunno

The Josie thing would be less annoying if she wasn't 50% of the M/F pairings. Not that I desperately need CGI boobs but, after DA:O, the different levels of intimacy seem arbitrary.

Sera has alchemy; various potions to cover herself in fire or ice and whatnot.
Dorian has necromancy or something like it. No armies of zombies but a Horror spell with a +weaken effect, when he dies, a Spirit Dorian will fight for another 15 seconds, stuff like that
Cole has Assassin. Pretty much what it sounds like; DPS/Evade stuff for the double-dagger attacks.

I think it has to do with they wanted to create some softer romance options for those that are freaked out by sex in video games (and life). There was this huge Reddit thread about how some people wanted to play it but were scared of the sex content. *some had valid reasons like abuse :( But that kind of debate sounds more like an Asylum topic.

I ended up with Josie just because it was an easy route. Smiley: nod I did not feel like hunting Cas's people all over the world first and Josie kept dancing with me and stuff. I might break it off with her though after I finish up Cas personal quests. My motivation could be "Leliana was right your too much of a prude!" I kind of like her though so I dunno if I have the RP heart to do it on this toon. Smiley: frown

Necromancy oddly enough pairs perfectly with Fire because it has a passive that deals extra damaged to panicked enemies.(To go along with Horrors debuff) To give a better idea of what tree you should do with him. Just think of him as the "Debuffer". To but it in general RPG terms from there's specialization only.

Vivianne- Front line sturdy mage. Capable of dealing a lot of damage with combos.(barrier a must have)
Solas- Back line offensive.
Dorian- Back line Debuffer/Damage over time

Varric-Debuffer(Traps)/Buffer
Sera- Jack of all trades.(Has defensive, Offensive and bebuff skills)
Cole- Offensive mild debuffs to enhance his and other offensive abilities.(Stealth buffs so that skill needed)

Cassandra- Support(3 passives that effect the whole party and an aoe buff skill)/Debuff
Iron Bull- Front line offensive
Blackwell- Tank

I am pretty verse with Templar, and Necromancer if you want more details on those two. I play a knight enchanter but other people seem to of developed better combos for offense for them in this thread. I went for a more difference Knight enchanter. And can give over views but they be strictly as a I read what the abilities do and this is what i understand and you can look at a tree online for basically the same input on that.

I run a Knight Enchanter/ice(Main), Cass templar/sword and shield, Dorian necro/Fire, Cole assassin/Subterfuge party for most of the game.

Oh and to my experience you get specialization after you reach skyhold. They kind of just pop the second you bring them out in a party on the field,

I rode it for a little while after I got it.(Still have no idea how I got it.) Until the "new" mount smell wore off and I realized it wasn't my current char's style. I wonder how you get the other "Exotic" mounts?

It's part of the Digital Deluxe package. You actually get it into your stable via one of those instant-complete missions on the war map.

Game Over. The ending was fairly anti-climactic, but that's probably because I was stupidly overleveled and overgeared for the final boss fight(s), so I just stomped my way through the Big Bad and his pet dragon. The sequence of events and decisions leading up to the final battle were pretty awesome though.

Hard mode is up next. Thinking of rolling a mage this time around, but I also want to play a stealthy, back-stabby Qunari because irony.

The post-credits cut scene was confusing as hell, but it wrapped this installment up rather nicely. I say "this installment" because, as you'll no doubt be shocked to hear, they leave off with some pretty obvious plot for the inevitable sequel.

Yeah I see that happening to me as well if I don't bite the bullet soon. I'm still having fun tooling around though. In the games defense the same thing happened in Skyrim if you held off on the main quest too long and uber crafted. Kind of a trade off for having so much open ended stuff to do.

I think an ideal play through might be craft only if drops are way behind. Tool around doing quests only until you are off level for the next story mission. Beat the game with more challenge.

Of course some of the best stuff in the game is weird hidden nooks and crannies stuff. So a completion run without care for the main story being a challenge could be another kind of fun.

One more quick thought, while it's on my mind: I absolutely LOVE that all of the party members have their own distinctive armor style. The same piece of heavy armor will look completely different on Cassandra than it will on Blackwall, so they don't ever lose a unique identity.

Excellent little touch by the developers.

How the hell am I going to decide between Dorian and Bull for romancing? Impossible.

Also, I wish there were more dialogue triggers in the world. The zones are so vast, I'd appreciate a little more chatter.

They not only managed that but also made it so they DO have different armor "looks", just that each character has their own unique range. So it's not like Cassandra just has one stock graphic which would have been cheaping out in the other direction.

I just got this tonight, and I was grinning or cackling the entire time. Definitely a refreshing change of pace!

I also managed to romance Cassandra through some good ol' fashion item-hunting. Honestly, not a bad ending. Her telling me about her former lover gives me a decent insight to her actions. And... BOOBS!
